I usually receive a little cash for my birthday and enjoy going out shopping the day after Christmas. Emily and I ventured out last week and had the best time together. I'm thinking she's the daughter I never had! We enjoy the same things . . .
Anyway, our first stop was Hobby Lobby. Cindy had given me a gift certificate for the store and I just couldn't wait to gather up some goodies for my artwork. I did find a pistol grip glass cutter that I'm learning how to use so I can make my pendants smaller! Thank you, Cindy ~
Anyway, we ended up a Books-A-Million and I found several great things there. Usually these big book stores have their calendars half off and I always pick up one for the new year with my birthday money. But this year, I found TWO! Crazy as it may seem, I will hang them in my art room as they both are just beautiful.
I love the look and feel of them. One is a calendar based on the "Fairyopolis" book and the other is based on the "Beatrix Potter Journal." They both have illustrations and neat pullouts, envelopes with treasures and other surprises.
Two calendars was not necessary for counting the days but for inspiration? Yes.

Wow! I don't think I could've chosen between those 2 calendars either! I love the Beatrix Potter one!
Please pop over to my blog as I'm having a small giveaway.
Best Wishes

No wonder you got 2 calendars, they are so gorgeous. Sounds like you and Emily had fun shopping.

Happy Birthday to you!
I have a December birthday and stationery is my favorite indulgence. My eldest daughter has a January birthdy and I have bought her Fairyopolis as a present. Haven't been aware of the calendar, though.
This year I sent out Beatrix Potter Christmas cards from the V&A. Loved the movie, too.
Enjoy your birthday presents. Sending you a little sparkling fairy to watch over them!
I bought that fairy one also, isn't it great. i will be scanning some of the wonderful pages to use here and there. Happy New Year.
