Working it in ~

Isn't that what we all do?
Work our creativity into our lives?
Between caring for our families...
keeping our homes relatively clean...
cooking wonderful meals ;)
and keeping everyone's clothes clean too ~
it really is a miracle we get anything accomplished creatively!

I've been working on the same stuff all week but have had many other obligations as well....
If I can just get to the post office today and mail the four parcels I need to,
I'll be such a happy girl!!!
Still no new goods in the Etsy shop
but I promise, a few pretties are coming :)

Have a beautiful Thursday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

What...1500 Followers?!!! I've got to have a giveaway!!!

I've loved blogging from day one.
I couldn't EVEN believe that someone would visit my little ol' blog
and care what was going on in my life or what I was up to!
And then to actually check in on a daily basis?
UNBELIEVABLE!

I just want you to know how much I love it though....
I love your precious comments and that you care enough to come by here ~
and most of all, how I cherish your friendship!!!!
I'm offering up a simple piece of art that I created for Pam's book

The artwork is a plate that I've collaged with a few images and trims...
easily hung with a plate hanger!
I love, LOVE the image that I found in Mary's

Can you see it on the left hand page? It's looks so tiny but it's about the size of a luncheon plate.

So, simply comment ON THIS POST and I would love to send this to one of you!!!
Please leave your email if you don't have a blog....
The giveaway ends next Sunday evening, July 24th at 6:00 pm EST ~

And one last pic....my precious granddaughter, growing like a little WEED!!!!

Have a beautiful Monday precious friends!!!!
Hugs and love,
Dawn

My stop on the Art at The Speed of Life blog tour!

I'm still pinching myself...
I am so very honored to be a
contributing artist in Pam Carriker's
wonderful new book

I was fortunate enough to "meet" Pam
(we've not actually met in person)
through blogging several years ago when
our blogs were quite new and we were both
submitting art to Stampington for publishing ~
She has always been such an encouraging friend
to me and is an absolutely wonderful artist!!

If you have that burning desire to create something beautiful
always in the back of your mind,
Pam's book will help you achieve this goal
on a daily basis!

Our day-to-day lives are so chock full of household duties,
working to support our families,
we have busy schedules to coordinate
and
so much more...
how in the world can we nuture our creative spirit???
Pam Carriker's book
is a gentle guide to help you MAKE time to create!

I love that Pam's artist contributors have different art styles.
The book is filled with so many projects, techniques and ideas that
you'll love experimenting with too ~

Stepping into a dream...

I really did....

When I was at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart last week
(yes, I only went one afternoon)
I know, I'm lame.....
but there were many wonderful reps in our showroom
to sell our wares and I have to say,
our son Brent is a NATURAL
at selling so he went on through the weekend.
But I did go in Thursday and my one goal of the day
was to visit Peacock Park Design's showroom!!!

Gina's gorgeous studio was featured in Where Women Create
and I've been drooling over her website and blog for a while now ~
I've snagged a few photos from her blog
that I just have to share with you:

Can you believe this ribbon Gina designed??????

A glimpse inside the showroom ~
These are all photos from Gina's blog as it is a BIG no-no
to take photos at the mart....

Beautiful, old antiques have been replicated....
they just take my breath away!

Don't you just love her taste???

And guess what came in the mail this past weekend?????
Pam Carricker's new book

She was so kind to ask me to contribute a few pieces of artwork too!!
Here are a few glimpses inside :)

I wrote a little about blogging (surprise, surprise!)
and how much I love it ~
my heart artwork is featured on this page...

I'm sure you'll recognize a couple of my other pieces below as well ~

Pam did such an AMAZING job on this book...I think you are going to love it too!!
There are wonderful techniques shared and so much great advice on
how to fit creating art into your busy life.

I'm so honored to be included with all of the other artists inside...
thank you very much Pam!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday dear friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

From the look of these few sneak peeks....
I can tell it is!!!
I can't wait to get my copy of this beauty ~

And another upcoming book that I've been wanting to tell you about....
Art at The Speed of Life by Pam Carriker!
And a little tidbit about this one....
I have a few pieces of artwork featured inside!!!!

From the description of the book:
The projects are inspiring, yet easy to complete on a tight schedule,
and include techniques such as assemblage, image transfer, and collage.

Can you tell I'm a book freak? :)

Happy Thursday sweeties!!!
hugs and love,

They know me well . . .

The other day Brad took Noah (middle son & youngest son)
to a state park nearby just to enjoy the beautiful
fall weather and get out of the house.
I always mention, "look for me some goodies while you're walking!"
just because they know what I love!

These are the treasures they returned with ~
beautiful art supplies...

I wanted to share some wonderful news with you!!!
Pam Carriker is writing her first book ~ Art at the Speed of Life...
and she asked me to be a contributing artist! How amazing is THAT???
She's started a blog to document her experience
creating the book if you'd like to take a look.
It's in the beginning stages so you can follow along!
There are many other contributing artists and
I'm so very honored to be among them ~
thank you so much Pam, you're an angel!

Wishing you a great Tuesday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
