The Seasons of Life ~

We have a few big changes going over here in the Edmonson household!

Our precious youngest son Noah

is moving out of the house this coming weekend!!!

He'll be moving in with his older brother Chase in a new-to-them house that

is absolutely PERFECT for them both.

I'm so very excited for them!!!

But my mama's heart has realized this is a milestone change.

Our last baby will be leaving the nest.

We are so very proud though!!!

To all my precious friends who have watched my babies grow up

you know I had to share this with you!

Don't blink! Life is passing by at warp speed ~

For the past few weeks we all have been preparing for a big milestone

in the Edmonson family...

Our youngest son, Noah, graduated from high school this

past Friday evening!!!

I can't even believe our baby is now out of school and

beginning his journey into the next stage of his life.

In other news...

I've been wanting to embroider for a while now so I thought

I'd sketch out something simple and give it a go!

My drawing is a very simple dandelion that I thought

would look wonderful on the front of several sachets.

I love how they turned out! These two are left in my Etsy store if you'd like to take a peek!

Now to sketch out a new design.

I loved sitting in the living room in the evening,

relaxing and stitching!!!

Forgotten lace, old buttons and humble fabrics ~

I'd been wanting to get back into the studio and

put together a single treasure pocket similar to my large ones...

and I FINALLY did!

It's funny how I drift away from making things for awhile but then

when I get back to it, I love is SO MUCH!

Here's the first one that I made...it's sold but I still wanted to

share it with you. I even stuffed it with a few of my own treasures too.

A roll of sheet music, antique baby photograph, rhinestone pin, an old baby shoe

and a teeny bundle of vanilla roses. It's simple really, but you get the idea.

I stuffed the bottom of the pocket with sewing pattern tissue

to lift the items up but it could easily just be filled with even

more goodies!

I'm also finishing up another Treasure Pocket Organizer.

These take time, just because I want each piece of lace, each button and

their placement to be just right (well, in my mind anyway!)

This one is sold as well but it's fun to see in-progress photos.

Sweet old lace, pressed and waiting for a new purpose...to be even more beautiful!

More lace stash...you really have to have a ton of stuff to make pretty things, I mean it!

You can't create without a wonderful supply to choose from.

And guess what else has been going on around here?

This precious girl...

this sweet baby, our granddaughter Clara started FIRST GRADE

this past Monday!!

She's so excited!! But I'm sure, since it's Friday and

this was her first week back, she'll be exhausted tonight.

And don't worry about our kids starting back so early ~

Every six weeks, they get a full week off AND two weeks at Christmas!

It's a great schedule and works out so well for the students and the teachers.

AND this goob...our sweet baby Noah...

now 17 years old, started his SENIOR year of high school!!!

And what's funny? This is a photo from last year.

He's growing his hair out and has a BEARD!!!

WHAT?

Someone at school told him yesterday, "Hey man, you look like Jesus"

HAHA! I told Noah, what a compliment!

Where has the time gone?

I hope you're having a wonderful summer and staying cool.

You realize we will blink and it will be Fall!

Digging through my stash ~

I absolutely LOVE, love old doll clothes.

No, not those made overseas but those made by

mamas and grandmamas to please their little girls!!!

I have a teeny collection and thought I would go to it for inspiration

for a dress for my sweet art doll.

Guess what I found???

The tiniest pair of panties EVER!!! And they actually FIT

over the chubby belly that I gave my sweet girl dolly.

Then I went through all the doll dresses.

I wanted to find the perfect one that I could transform for her.

I found the most WONDERFUL antique pink one!!!

Now I have to try to make a dress for my small doll from this big dress...

but I think the color will be just beautiful on her!

Emily had a parent/teacher conference with Clara's kindergarten teacher and

brought our precious grandbabies by so she could go.

Murray and Clara BOTH flocked to Uncle Noah...and Murray just crashed!!!

Clara saw this and decided to lay down too!!

Uncle Noah?

He thinks he has the magic touch!!!!

My sweet babies...

Yes, I have many!

Having five boys and loving them each dearly, I still consider them my babies ~

And we also two precious grandchildren that we love as well and

believe me, they are growing like weeds!!!

Today (Thursday) was open house for all of our counties schools

so that meant that Noah and I got ourselves together and went to see

all about his classes and what his junior year will hold.

Well, he did.

Yes, don't hate on me,

(I have five boys, can you even imagine how many open houses that I've been to?????)

I dropped him off at the front door and he went all around to meet his teachers

and get their class supply lists, etc. He likes it better that way, believe me!

He's sixteen and can schmooze with his buds and I'm not draggin' along behind him....

he was finished in 25 minutes! With me, it would have been a good hour.

I simply waited in the parking lot and it was all good!

I can't believe how grown up he is now.

But the sweetest thing?

Clara had her very first open house ever for her first year in kindergarten!!!!

I watched sweet Murray so her mama could take her and in the meantime I gave

the little angel a hair trim....doesn't he look so grown up now????

I just can't believe Murray will be two in September!!!!

And when Clara and Emily got back to the house, Clara got a trim from Mimi too ~

just to make things faster and easier on school mornings!!

I didn't even take the time to dry it before snapping photos....

But you get the idea, isn't she just beautiful???

So very proud!!!

Our little Noah...who's not so little anymore (at 6'2" and now 16 yrs old)

was one of the hosts of his youth group's annual fund raiser!!!

They have a talent show featuring all of the youth group and

of course, Noah, being the youngest of five boys, is quite the ham and

so fits the part as the HOST with his best buddy Logan!!!

The talent show was featured for two nights, Friday and Saturday ~

I was able to go Saturday and it was just WONDERFUL!!!!

Here's our sweet youngest, Noah on the left...and Logan on the right:

He also performed in a skit....of course, you had to be there but it was funny as all get out!

Did I mention that Noah is a HAM??
(ps. I made his little chevron bow tie!)

Our sweet, sweet boy and his best bud.

This youth group has been so very wonderful for Noah.

With all his big brothers being grown and out of the house,

he just loves doing stuff with his youth group!!

for all that you do for our precious children.

Please remember that all that you do for our babies

truly are jewels in your crown!!!

As for me?

Not much to report right now...

but sure hope to soon!!!
