Creating a little and missing you...

I love blogging so.
I love my friends here and our connection to each other ~
you always, always inspire me and you know
that I pray that I can do the same for you!

We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and I finally got back
to making a little something!

I've had this most amazing vintage ironstone sugar dish for a few years now
and finally decided it was time to upcycle this sweetie into a pincushion!
Here she is all finished...perfect with staining, crazing and of course
you know I had to add a little lace, seam binding and rhinstones :)

I've added this new pincushion to my Etsy if you'd like to take a look!

A week or so ago, we went to an estate sale so I thought I'd share
my teeny tiny finds with you!
The pincushion is in the pic and was in progress....
Not much but still sweet things ~

I love this little chair so much...it's stained a little too much but I hope to fix that ~
I think some folks collect these...

And our precious grandson Murray visited Sunday
as Brent and Emily took Clara
to the movies to see Despicable Me 2.
Look at his two new teeth! He's already 10 months old ~
good grief the time just flies by.

Clara was a happy girl after the movie and I know she loved
having some one-on-one time with her mama and daddy!

I hope you are doing so, so good
and thank you always for visiting me here!!!

Happy Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Texture and patina.....

Seems those two things always draw me in.
I found these wonderful little containers
(and yes, don't choke, they ARE peat pots)
at my local Dollar General!
They seem to be a bit sturdier than your
typical peat pot plus the texture on the
sides is beautiful ~ They are also a pretty
vanilla color....perfect for Easter favors or gifts!

I'm always looking at textures and weaves of fabrics ~

The elegance of beautiful penmanship ~
they must have had strict classes back then!

I imagine it was hard to write on a book spine with pen and ink!

This stained pitcher is so beautiful to me ~

Old sheers

Speckled books, cracking at the spine ~

But just look at it's embossed cover!

The soft, crackled leather of an antique baby shoe
with beautiful scalloped edging detail.

Speckled rusting here and there ~

Do I need help?

Nah.
You girls understand.
I'm linking up with Debra of Common Ground's

love you much & happy weekend!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn
