Sweet mail love & a One Day Sale!!

Thursday was a sweet mail day!! Look at these beautiful old newsletters that Shari from Vermont sent me!! Just because she knew I would love them . . . what kindness ~ I love them so very much Shari, thank you, thank you!!! Don't you just love the graphics??

I had to scan this one for you, I know Christmas is still a few months off but maybe you can use these precious carolers in some of the projects that you sell!

Free image for your artwork, click to enlarge, right click to save to your computer:

I decided to do a little printing on muslin ~ what is it about these images on fabric, I just love graphics and text ~ maybe from being a graphic designer so long but I just do. I'm going to try to incorporate these images on my apron. Yes, I'm still working on it!

The only thing is my work is so, I don't know, too precise looking, not artistic enough....I see all of this wonderful fabric artwork....it's so free-spirited.
Now I see why I've procrastinated!

OH and the last little tidbit of news . . .

I'm such a procrastinator!

Jenny Doh had asked me months ago if I'd come up with an apron for the new publication, Apronology. Sort of my spin on the whole apron thing. Well, I've finally started working on an apron to send in but I have been procrastinating terribly and truthfully, I just can't explain why, but I have. The deadline is coming fast and I'll need to pop it in the mail in the next day or so. Are you like that? If you are about to do something new, you put it off not wanting to do it wrong??

I have a nice collection of old linens that I've been going through to possibly use for this project and wanted to share what I've started with.

I have an old petticoat or slip that has holes and tears in it, but the double ruffle that is around the bottom is just beautiful. So I've taken a section of the ruffle and applied it to the bottom of a new, but washed, cook's apron from Hobby Lobby. I thought the ready made apron would be a nice base for applying these wonderful old linens to . . . we'll see how this turns out, I'm still not convinced I can do this in time ~ ugh!

Now that I've started on it, I'm getting the vibe and hopefully will have it shipped to California in time. I don't know if mine will be artistic enough ~ maybe just resourceful! I love reusing old things, but I'm sure you've realized that by now! Next I need to start on my art quilt to submit by the end of the year ~ you can read about submitting yours HERE.

PS. There's a sweet new blogger in town!!! Her name is Pattie and her blog is The Joy of Nesting ~ you know I love that name!! Please pay her a visit and give her a warm welcome to this land of blog . . .

~ Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday ~
