Déjà vu sweet friends!

Do you know what déjà vu means?
It is French for "already seen" and is used to refer to
when a person experiences the feeling that they have seen or
experienced something at an earlier time....

And what am I referring to?
My very first article in Stampington's Somerset Life
has been republished!!!!!
What a true honor to be in their upcoming (July 1st)
Handcrafted 2010 issue!!!!!

I received my free artist's issue a couple of days ago
and have since been able to look through each and every bit of it.
Friends, this is a WONDERFUL issue!!
And I'm not saying it because my pincushions are inside ~
I had to take a few photos to give you a preview.
I think you'll love this one!!!!

My little article ~ and they even used totally different photos from
what they originally used in the Life issue!!!! Neat, huh?

Now, for a little taste of what else is inside:

OK, I'm in LOVE with this bear!!!! And they even include the pattern!

I just had to share this with you!!!

Mitzi of Mitzi's Collectibles has a few wonderful ideas for wallpaper
on her latest post....take a look HERE!

I think a giveaway is in order, don't you??

Outside the Box Art Challenge reveal!!

My sweet friend Lisa of Tarnished and Tattered
has challenged all of us to create whatever we want to
with these wonderful soap boxes that she came across ~
I just finished mine up last night and got in under the wire...
why do I always wait to the last minute to do things??!!
ANYWAY....
Here's my take on the soap box Lisa!

You know how I love nature ~ it seemed to be the perfect theme!

The front:

The simple closure:

The inside:
(yes, my dear friends, it IS a mini tribute
to the wonderful Carol Hicks Bolton!)

Can you see the aged tulle over the botanical specimen?
OH...and I discovered my heat gun shrivels the stuff up a bit...but
be careful if you try it!!!
I stitched the little ends of the wires to they'd stay in place.

A wonderful old envelope to hold seeds.

And I used my old typewriter for the text!!!
See honey, I WILL use it for my artwork :)

I can't wait to visit everyone else
and see their wonderful soap box creations!!!

Wishing you a great Monday precious friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

I just had to share :)
I hope you're having a wonderful,
relaxing Sunday dear friends...

Sweet summer surprise ~

Earlier in the year I bought one pack of giant sunflower seeds.
Do you think I planted them?
No.
I meant to, but "meant to" doesn't get much done.

A few weeks ago I noticed a large plant growing from the corner of our
front flower bed....that just happens to be right underneath
the bird feeder and well, this is the sweet surprise it became....
One beautiful sunflower!!
I want to dry the head when it's time ~
Does anyone know when that is??

It's blistering hot here in Georgia....
it's so nice to have a sweet summer surprise!

On another note...can I just say, I LOVE this sofa??!!!
I found it on the Willows blog....
here's their website ~

Have a wonderful weekend precious friends,
hugs and love,

Tiny and wonderful ~

I can't help it.
I love little things!
Small is so very sweet.....
It's funny what inspires us.

Plus I seem to enamored with doll clothes.
Especially doll dresses.
Not all doll dresses though.
I love white, cream or pale, pale colors.
Stained is fine....a few tiny holes are wonderful too!
But that's a whole other post....

All Things Bright and Beautiful

~ Cecil Frances Alexander ~

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

I was poking around on Ebay the other night
and found THESE little treasures!!
What are they?
Teeny tiny doll shoes ~ not pairs, just single shoes who've lost their mates.
All of these for a mere 99 cents!

And what will I do with them?
Oh, I don't know....
I can see teeny, tiny shoe pincushions ~
or even fairy shoes in the making....
can you?

See that little boot below?? Eeeek! It's the softest leather ~

Sweet little slippers ~

It seems my very favorites were so small and tattered ~

Look at the shape of this one!

To give you an idea of the size of this adorable boot ~
that's a regular sized glue stick!

Even though this was the largest shoe in the bunch
it's absolutely wonderful!!!!

So, what do you think?
That's a whole lot of wonderfulness for 99 cents, isn't it?
Yes, I did pay a couple of dollars for shipping too.....but still!
I guess no one else was interested in a bunch of single, old doll shoes ~
Thank goodness!!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Thursday dear friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn
