I worked on a little project today for Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio. She mailed me the cutest chipboard kit in the shape of a little girl's dress ~ I used one of her digital collage sheets, part of a vintage linen, millinery flowers and lace. It turned into a one-of-a-kind card for the parents of a new baby girl ~

I know you're probably tired of seeing pet photos but I wanted to show you what friends Ellie and Paxton are now! They love playing together, chasing each other and now apparently cuddling with one another too!

Do you think Paxton is comfortable enough?

Happy Thursday!! xxoo, Dawn

I am lovin' the thrift store today!

I love going to the thrift store and finding things that I would normally buy as art supplies but finding them for such a deal!!!! Jute, hemp (love using it in my artwork), muslin pieces, some neat twill tape, the coolest little word book, and then these precious patent leather mary janes....pincushions maybe??

But the best, best thing was this paper organizer I found that was dirty, had spiderwebs, coffee stains on top and I took it to the front and asked the price . . . 2.99!!! I ran out the door with the thing on my back! I think it will only hold 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper but I have tons so I'm hoping it will help me with organizing. But guess what. Now that I have this little jewel I want to rip apart my artroom and totally organize and re-do! Help!!!!

I'll be adding the items below to my Etsy shop soon ~ the shoe's already there but the other goodies with be listed at good prices!

I love new bloggers. You know why? Because they are so excited and also that they do not realize yet the amazing world they are entering!!! A place of wonderful friends, sweet gifts from giveaways or random acts of kindness, prayers offered up for their loved ones or themselves, concern if they haven't posted and everyday encouragement, inspiration and enlightenment.

I would love for you to please visit sweet Myrna at More Than Heirlooms and welcome her to this Land of Blog!!! Her artwork is beautiful and I'm just so glad she's here!!!! Don't you love this piece she made below??!!

My little piece of the puzzle ~

Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio has organized a collaboration project for each member of the Studio Design Team to take part in. Gail will be submitting it to possibly be chosen to be published in a book!!

She has a unique shadow box with different sections and each of us on the team were assigned a section and we were to complete a piece of artwork to fit into that section. The theme is "shabby chic spring" and this is my contribution and hopefully it will slide right into the shadow box in my little section. (I measured and re-measured!) I can't wait to see the finished project, I'll be sure to post photos when I get them!!

I want to thank each and every one of you for all the sweet comments about my pincushions being published. I just want you to know that because of you, your encouragement, you cheering me on, your kindess, I have had the confidence to create, to send my artwork to the magazine and now for it to appear inside!!!

Thank you ALL so very much for being my cheerleaders!!

A few pieces using chipboard!

My project for this month for Shabby Cottage Studio was to use Gail's chipboard pieces in my artwork. I've not used these before but really loved all the wonderful pieces! They would make incredible tags, I did make one into a tag earlier on my first big egg. I'm working on a couple of other projects using a sweet bird cutout and also a crown!! Who doesn't love crowns?

Be sure to drop by the Shabby Cottage Studio website and see all the wonderful supplies for your artwork ~

Easter Wishes ~

Well, I finished my projects for Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio! I finished them a little early but I was just so excited!!

I used the images from one of her Easter collage sheets, old sheet music and other little objects that worked with each piece. I even got into a little crepe paper ruffling!! Stop by the store to see all the gorgeous goodies Gail has to offer! These items are for sale in my Etsy store ~

This is one of those pretty little satin boxes that women used in their dresser or closet to store gloves, hankies or whatever they wanted.
