So how's your December going? I've missed you!

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to post...life sometimes takes over!
I found a wonderful magazine a Walmart a few days ago
and just HAVE to give you a preview because
I know you are going to love it like I do!!!!

My sweet little mitten ornaments ~ you can find the free tutorial HERE!

A few gorgeous old ornaments I ran across one day, they are beautiful to me!

Here's the magazine!
It's the Spring issue of Romantic Country and
YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT!!!!
Just take a peek....

It's AH-MAZ-ING! I promise! And definitely a keeper for sure.

I hope you are doing so good and that you are enjoying this
beautiful time of the year ~

Thank you always, always for stopping by to see me!!!

Hugs and love,

Oh well, not everything turns out wonderful ~

Have you ever worked hard on something and then,
when you're finished been utterly disappointed?
I finished the drapes up this weekend...six panels worth and truthfully?
They burn my retinas!!!
They are just too much for me....yes, they will keep the cold winds out this winter,
but I don't think I'm going to keep them up.

I love my collections so much in our living room so there really is a lot of visual clutter.
Everything is neat but there are a lot wonderful things we love in this room.
The curtains just push it all over the top for me!

So, like I said...not everything turns out wonderful!!!

I did find a GREAT magazine this weekend!
I don't buy many magazines any more but when I do find one I like,
I always love to share it with you here. I've included a few pics
of what's inside to give you an idea ~

And the REAL reason I ended up deciding to purchase this issue?
(Other than the fact that it was filled with all kinds of goodness)
A sweet friend of mine, Shelley of Sweet Pea Home, is featured inside!!!
She's such an angel and wonderfully talented ~
When I first started creating artwork about six years ago,
she had a brick and mortar shop and it was INCREDIBLE...
anyway, she purchased a few of my first pieces to sell in her shop!!
She encouraged me to continue creating and was such an angel to me....

So, I'll quit obsessing about those crazy curtains and move on to a few new projects.
I've got an order for an Ipad mini sleeve and a big ol' pair of angel wings!
And then there is this wonderful fabric taunting me as well....

And my precious friends....I'll leave you with
a couple of current pics of our two sweet grandbabies,
Clara and Murray ~
Just to make you smile!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Monday sweet friends!!!!
Hugs and love,
Dawn

Found....good stuff ~

I ran a few errands today and of course had to stop by Books-A-Million to see what they had that I couldn't live without!

Altered books have been on my mind lately and I've admired so many other artist's work and I've really been wanting to try to make one. I found a book that shares a lot of really neat ideas so maybe it will spur me on to give it a go!

Another neat thing is that they had all of their calendars on sale for just $3.00! I've always loved this Country Living calendar so I bought it as well ~ the images inside make me smile :)

And the new Victoria was out so I had to get it too!! Look at the calling cards page....look really close and look who you see....Deena's card!!!! Yaaaaay Deena, I'm so happy for you being in this magazine!! It even speaks of her Primitive Gathering website....

I LOVE pressed ferns ~ this article is in Victoria too...

A peek at the Altered Book Workshop book ~

I had to share this beautiful piece of lichen Emily brought inside to give me....why do I find this beautiful? I don't really know...but I do ~

Beautiful things make me smile....

Have a very happy Wednesday sweet friends ~

Time for a sleep over & a magazine shoot!

Fifi's beautiful cottage and garden gate

I'm so excited, Saturday evening I'm going to my girlfriend's house (we've known one another since we were in 10th grade!) and spending the night! Her name just happens to be Dawn too and we couldn't be more opposite. We've always enjoyed each other's company and I'm really looking forward to spending some girl time with her!!

Then, Sunday morning she and I are heading to the airport to pick up Fifi of Chez Fifi!!! Fifi's flying in to do a shoot at a friend and former customer of mine's home near where I live. It's so amazing how this whole magazine world works. They do everything so far in advance!!

We're hoping to have Sunday brunch together and then take her to her hotel in Atlanta Sunday afternoon. Monday morning I've got to meet Fifi and the photographer at the interstate for them to follow me to Jean's house. It really should be a fun day. I can't wait to see Fifi style the room for the photographs and watch the photographer do her job as well. Jean's making homemade chicken salad croissant sandwiches for everyone and I'm bringing old fashioned peach cobbler! Be sure to look for Jean's home in the January issue of Country Sampler magazine.

I'm not going to get many creative things accomplished this weekend but will be back at it after Monday. I'm really excited about meeting Fifi and being able to be there with Jean. Fifi freelances for many magazines writing articles and styling the photographs, but she also is the editor of Romantic Country magazine! My little silver sugar dish and urn pincushions are in the current issue! Too unbelievable.....

ps. If you will, please say a little prayer for Fifi as she has been quite sick due to her very busy schedule. She went to the doctor yesterday to get a big ol' shot and is on the mend but I do pray that she is feeling wonderful by the time she has to fly out Sunday morning ~

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
