On the verge of creativity ~

Sometimes...just sometimes, it takes a little while

to get your creativity flowing again.

It seems to me that the regular ol' life stuff

always tries to choke it out of you.

But guess what?

It simply can't.

When you are creative it's like a constant

flowing stream that continues on,

no matter what.

Yes, you will have lulls...

and times where it's just not going to happen.

But it will always, always keep flowing.

Through your mind and soul ~

I sometimes have to even look at what I've created in the past

to realize what I love.

I especially love looking at my Pinterest board

"Amazing Artwork"

that features so many beautiful art pieces from other artists...

it is such wonderful inspiration!

And then sometimes...

it just takes getting started.

Moving supplies around,

looking at the beautiful things you have gathered and

just starting SOMETHING.

Even if it's so very simple...

I just purchased a brand new bag of lavender

and have pulled out some fabric...

And guess what sweet friends...

you're not going to believe this ~

But in about two weeks,

this angel grandson of ours will be turning ONE!!

Oh sweet baby Murray!

Where did the time go??

A wonderful time of year ~

In Georgia, our summers are unmercifully hot...

AND humid which always make it just miserable to be outdoors.

I avoid it at all costs!!

But finally, as we near the middle of October,

this is the time that I can finally enjoy being outside.

I love creating with nature's gifts and
getting outside to find these wonderful treasures.

Yes, some of the goodies above I purchased,

were gifts from precious friends or are

scans from me to you ~

but fall is a great time of year to get out and

find beautiful components for your artwork.

Still no pics of the new house.

Yes, I know...I should be popped upside the head.

We worked on the front porch this weekend,

going through all the things that used to be in our attic at the old house.

We got rid of 3/4ths of it!!!!

So I'm still plowing through and it seems that I'll never be finished ~

Maybe this week?

Nuturing creativity ~

My dear friend Dawn let her daughter Sarah come over for an evening of creating last night! Sarah had an accordian book that she wanted to embellish
so I pulled out a few things for her to play with and she just took off!!!

I loved seeing how she was so sure of herself ~
her paper choices, buttons and images.
Her book turned out so beautiful ~ I took a few photos to share with you.....

As an artist it's important to look through your stash, try different things,
and then be confident in the decision that you finally ended up with.
Don't stress over your decision, as it's not a life or death thing.....
we all learn from mistakes in our art journey ~
what matters is that you play, experiment and try.....
to create something beautiful!

Creativity dwells within us ~

Do you hear it? Do you feel it? The constant voice....the bubbling inspiration? Giving you that craving to make something.....something beautiful and breathtaking? You can see it in your mind....it's just a matter of making it happen. I have it constantly....kind of like a little angel on your shoulder that says, "What if you put this and that together and add a little of this....." it's just like a still, small voice in the ear of an artist.

Even if you have to fold clothes, cook dinner, vacuum the house....that little angel speaks to you ~ that's your creative spirit giving you nudges. I encourage you to carve out a small amount of time, not much, just a few hours to follow this prompting. It will make your heart happy and in turn....it will emanate from you
and affect everyone around you.
