A few glimpses of the studio to make you smile!

I don't even know what to say about all that is going on right now.
I can only say, stay home...stay safe and pray for this to please pass precious friends.

I was up in the studio yesterday cleaning up, putting things away and
thought that I'd take a few close-ups of vignettes to make you smile.

And yes, I do need to get busy making something pretty...
it always makes me happy and distracts me too!
I've been in a funk for waaaay too long it seems.

First, a print I scanned years ago that I love!
Right click it, save it and print it out.
You can print it to frame or even make some sweet cards!

A jar of rhinestone jewelry and bling!

The last bloom from our hydrangea bush at the farmhouse.
It brings me sweet memories you know.
It's not finished but will be soon.

Old photographs recently given to me by my sweet cousin Sherry.

Stuff.

More pretty stuff...

My very favorite jar filled with vintage buttons!

A few of my very favorite things. Gifts from friends, artwork from others and
my favorite photograph of my sweet grandmother.

A paper clay bird I made for my tutorial in the Etsy shop and the most
gorgeous handmade nest from a blog friend Vicki Boster.

Another dried hydrangea bloom resting in an antique aquarium with a bird's nest.
And yes, those are real eggs that never hatched!

One of my first little pincushion baby shoes that was published.

Treasures pinned to a dress form.

YES.
She is waiting for her modeling job when I finish those hair bands in the background.
Get busy Dawn and stop stressing...

Some fabulous bark that Tammy and James brought back from a mountain trip.
It definitely needs to be used!

More artwork from friends that I adore!

The sweet little retro blue tooth speaker
that Brent and his family gave me for my birthday and
a few more treasures and supplies.

I just wanted to bring a little sweetness to your day.
Please stay safe, stay home and of course stay clean.
I love you all!!!

Thank you for visiting me always,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Beautiful roses...wonderful finds!

The day before the yard sale weekend before last,
a sweet college friend came over for a sneak peek preview
and ended up visiting with us most of the evening...
we had the best time catching up!!!

Don't you love friends like that?
No matter how much time passes,
you always just pick right up where you left off ~
You may remember that she was so generous

Tammy owns her own flower shop, One Rose Florist in Jonesboro, GA
and showed up with a gorgeous bouquet of roses for me!!!
They were fading this past weekend so I clipped them off to dry...
I love them just as much now as I did when she gave them to me!!!
Appreciating the beauty at every stage....

I made a little trip to Michael's this weekend and found several treasures!
You know I have to share with you so here's a look....

In the jewelry section I found a whole new batch of Industrial Chic products and these
gorgeous Rhinestone looking pins had to come home with me!!!

Don't you love their dollar section??
I found these sweet Mary Engelbreit cards and this pen!
The pen ended up being only .01 cent!!!!!

Of course I had a 40% off coupon and applied it to this big ol' pack of Creative Paperclay ~
I've had the hankering for a LONG time to work on an art doll...
I'm still trying to muster the courage though!
I'm such a freak and don't want it to look like a hot mess ~

And FINALLY my Michael's had this perfect flesh color of Martha Stewart paint...

And I found the latest issue of Somerset Life...it is BEAUTIFUL!
So it came home with me too.

And the crazy thing? They already had some of the French General line on clearance
so I scooped up this wonderful ribbon...

Lisa gave me some French General fabric for my birthday a while back
so I thought the ribbon would look perfect with it!
Maybe for a few lavender sachets?

And lastly a new Etsy listing!
This piece didn't make it into the yard sale
because, well...
it's too pretty!!
Click HERE if you're interested ~

I always feel like I don't thank you ENOUGH.
For taking the time out of your busy day to visit me
and to see what I'm up to ~
Thank you so, so much!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Such good stuff to share!!

I FINALLY bought my copy of the current issue of Somerset Life!
With the holidays, the weather, etc....it's taken me a while to get my hands on it ~

I just have to tell you how wonderful it is
to see several of my precious friends in print!!!!!!

This issue is just as beautiful as all the rest and
even more so after I read it!

Sandy Babb of Quill Cottage has a BEAUTIFUL project featured!!!
I fell in love with this creation the first time I saw it
and I'm so glad that Stampington felt the same way ~
You have got to see the detail on this piece....
And Sandy you are so precious to mention me,
tears filled my eyes when I read it.....but girl,
your work is so wonderful
it was about time I saw your name in print!

And then I see a project from sweet Alice of Thoughts from Alice W. ~
I always love Alice's taste and the beautiful things she creates!

And then I find Tina of Tiny Bear!!!
Such sweet little spools she's created for this issue....

And I'm in love with these amazing
inspiration boxes that my sweet friend
Lisa of Tarnished and Tattered created!!!!
It's filled with so many beautiful goodies to
get that creative process going....

Dear Isabel of Maison Douce has a great article inside too!

I also picked up a copy of the recent issue of Romantic Homes....

What did I discover inside??
Alice of Thoughts from Alice W. is featured
as one of their Romantics!!!!
She is such a perfect choice.....

And Lana Manis of Honeysuckle Lane is featured inside this issue
as a Romantic as well!!!
Another perfect choice ~
Lana's artwork is always beautifully inspiring.....

What a joy to see so many dear friends published!!!!
I love these magazines but to know who's inside makes them
such wonderful keepsakes for me ~

Congratulations to each and every one of you!!!!!

hugs and love,
Dawn

A funny thing happened on the sofa the other night...

Night before last, I nestled down into our sofa
with my brand spankin' new copy of
Somerset Life.
I found it at my lovely Books-A-Million and was so glad!!!
I love this magazine and have enjoyed each and every issue.
I've been so fortunate to have had some of my artwork published
in Somerset Life and that is ALWAYS wonderful!

I love seeing many of my precious blog friends between the pages.
Some for their pure style and inspiration ~

And some for their amazing way of making everyday items beautiful.

And even some for their beautiful artwork and handiwork ~

It's always chock full of ideas that you can
even adapt to the supplies you have on hand.

And as ALWAYS the photography is gorgeous.

Towards the end of the magazine (sad time)
I was relishing each and every page and
came to an article about transforming lampshades ~
I didn't read it because I always look at the photos first!

Beautiful fabrics and ruffles draped around the frames were beautiful ~

And I turned the page to the last part of the article....
I stop.
These look QUITE familiar to me!
WHAT???
The lace lampshades were my submissions about three years ago!!!!
I didn't even know they were going to be in this issue either!
I didn't write the article for these but they
really did well describing how I made my altered lampshades.

Crazy, huh???
I usually receive a complimentary issue in the mail a
couple of weeks before the magazine hits the news stands but
for some reason didn't this time.

Sooooooo ~ I'm glad I bought it so I could see my stuff in it!!!

These are mine below:

It really is another gorgeous issue.
If you decide to go out and buy one, you won't be disappointed!!!

Have a wonderful Friday precious friends...
hugs and love,
Dawn
