A simple but beautiful idea!

I don't know where I saw this idea...maybe Pinterest??
But I decided to try it.
There weren't many details, just a photo but here is my version!

You find a glass cylinder container.
Print a beautiful image onto vellum and cut it to size...
Next, find a smaller glass cylinder container and place
a tea light or small votive candle inside and light it.

It turned out SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Just please make sure the inner glass container is
MUCH taller than your candle and it's flame.

ALSO...just look at this precious mail love I received this week!
Teresa of Maggie Grace Creates knows how much I adore lace and
has been cleaning out her stash...so she sent me THIS massive pile of it!!!

Thank you SO very much sweet Teresa ~ I will try to make you proud
and make beautiful things with your generous gift!!

Plus, I wanted to share a photo of a Christmas gift of mine.
I may have shared it before but it is a mini photo studio that
my sons Brent and Chase gave me. The lighting is SO perfect
and it provides the perfect backdrop for my projects!

The name of it is My Studio and they found it on Amazon!
They know their mama well, right?

One more little thing,
here is a beautiful postcard I received in the mail this week from FRANCE!
My dear friend Cindy of Lilly's Lace sent it to me while she was on vacation.
What a thoughtful thing to do!! I will treasure it always ~

And finally, I'm working on something new....
a kind of variation of my treasure organizers!

I'm making SINGLE treasure pockets...
filled with some of the treasures from my studio!!
What do you think?
They will be able to hang and will be filled with goodies and treasures!

Stay tuned...

Happy Monday precious friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

A few of my favorite things!

I was finishing up a lavender sachet order for a friend of mine
SO I thought...
why not make a few extra to offer up in my Etsy store!!!

These are my very favorite images....
They feature antique and vintage graphics that I have printed onto
very thin muslin that has been ironed
and then pressed onto full page sticker stock,
trimmed with a rotary cutter exactly to 8 1/2" x 11".
I then add a more substantial fabric backing to the image
and use it as well for the backing of the sachet.
I fill my sachets TOTALLY with lavender buds, no extra fillers!

It's such a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful graphics of yesteryear and
of course, enjoy the sweet fragrance of lavender as well!

You can see all of my latest sachets here in my Etsy store ~

Thank you so much taking the time to visit my blog dear friends!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Friday,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Sweet sachets finished!!

Finally!
Sometimes things take longer than you think....
Here's a pic of most all of them!
I showed it to my sweet Facebook friends
and sold several to them before
I could get them listed in my shop!

I tried using some gorgeous old roses postcard images for several of these ~
Take a look:

All that are remaining are listed in my Etsy shop....

Wishing you a beautiful Friday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Transforming the ordinary ~

THAT is what thrills my soul!!!
Taking something common...something ordinary
and turning it into something BEAUTIFUL!
Simply by adding special elements,
wonderful touches
and a little TLC.

I wanted to share with you a sweet bottle I created for my friend Mary ~

I used a beautiful old earring I've been hoarding for years
to adorn the neck ~

I used a beautiful marble-looking cabinet knob with a cork
I screwed to the bottom to serve as the stopper.

And I had to use my very favorite label image...it's so gorgeous to me.

And with just the right amount of antique lace...and crinkled seam binding,
it all comes together!

Speaking of seam binding, I believe I've discovered my new favorite shade...
CROQUETTE BEIGE.
Check it out at Zipperstop...tell Jeff I sent you too!

It has the look of aged paper to me...
my photos are not a true representation but trust me,
it. is. wonderful!

Making things pretty always feels so good ~

Happy Tuesday precious friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Altered apothecary bottles ~

I've had these gorgeous old apothecary bottles
for several years now.
But it was time to let them go... and time
for them to be transformed into
something beautiful ~

With wonderful old French label copies,
(That I'm sure are from Karen at The Graphics Fairy!)
antique laces, crinkled seam binding and of course
a fragment of vintage rhinestone jewelry
I believe they now have a new purpose!!!

Both are in my Sewmanyroses Etsy shop if you'd like to take a look ~

And can you believe they both have their original glass stoppers?!!

They're both empty ready to filled with something wonderful ~
maybe lavender buds, bath salts or even vintage buttons!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me!!!

Wishing you a beautiful June Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
