Treasures FOUND plus a little experiment!

So...I hopped in my new van and tore out to a fabric outlet

that I've been wanting to check out.

I found a few goodies and ended up stopping by thrift store too!

Here are my found treasures...

Gorgeous faded rose decorator fabric, a beautiful damask,

a rich brown wool (maybe to felt and create a few fairy shoes?)

I picked up a plastic bag at the thrift and noticed right away

it was chock full of canvas fabric

(and you know what a freak I am for that stuff)

and some brown fabric,

I didn't care what that was I bought the entire bag!

After getting home, I tore into the bag and there was

a brand new drop cloth inside too!

The brown wool was in the bag and about

five yards of canvas fabric ~ SCORE!!!

I found these neat lace pieces at the fabric outlet too!

And my experiment???

I searched online for a template for a simple envelope and

created one out of fabric!

I thought it would make a sweet sachet...

so there is an inner muslin pouch filled with lavender buds.

I only made this one though ~ I'm not sure if I'll be making more, we'll see!

Making progress...

Creating a new pattern is never an easy thing...

especially when it involves MATH!! UGH.

Math was always, always my least favorite subject

but by golly it just keeps rearing it's ugly ol' head!!!!

I'm measuring widths..pockets...pocket depths...blah, blah, blah.

It's truly enough to just take the fun out of sewing I tell ya!!

And so, we will soon find if math has beaten me down or

if I can STILL make something pretty in spite of it all!!!!

Ideas in my head...and making them happen ~

I've had a little something pretty on my mind lately...

I've made a few of these in the past and sold them in my antique store

but want to make a new one.

I've always adored these gorgeous fabric organizers!!!

This photo is always, always in my mind...

the beautiful damask fabric and the wonderful pockets

just stuffed with sweet treasures ~

SO...I began creating my own pattern today.

I can only hope and pray it will turn out beautifully but

you only know when you've made the thing to see!!!

I just wanted to share with you what I'm up to....

And what's so neat?

I found some gorgeous damask fabric in my stash

to use to make the pretty organizer too!
