And speaking of sweet babies...

Hubby and I headed over to Brent and Emily's house

yesterday evening to enjoy Halloween

with Clara and little Murray!

BUT when we arrived, Brent (our oldest son)

and Chase (our fourth born)

had a little surprise waiting on me....

A BRAND NEW CAMERA!!!!!

I just had to cry!

How thoughtful are my precious sons and

how very blessed am I???

I love a simple point-and-shoot and this one

takes the most gorgeous photos!!!

The first two pics are taken with a very, very old digital camera as

I wanted you to see the box and camera....

The pictures below this point were taken with my new camera....

can you believe the close-up detail of this fabric???

I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

And am so very thankful to my hard-working boys

and that they would spend their money on their mama.

It's an early Christmas gift that I will treasure and

try desperately NOT to drop!!

I also have to share our adorable grandbabies

all dressed up for Halloween ~

Clara wanted to be a pirate! And her daddy wanted her

to have a beard and mustache as well, HAHA!!

I imagine little Murray is a matey from the poop deck? :)

DH and I had dinner with Brent and Emily last night.

Noah had youth group and his own Halloween gathering at the church...

We watched sweet baby Murray so Brent and Emily could take

our little Clara out Trick or Treating!

I can't get over how biggish she is now!!!

Looking forward to fall...

As soon as school starts, my thoughts always turn towards fall....
Do you have a time of year that brings back the most precious memories??

Fall is that time for me.
I love the crisp cool mornings...the gorgeous bright blue skies ~

When I was in fourth grade, we moved to a wonderful little neighborhood.

There were tons of other children....(one being my future husband)

Leaves were falling and I thought we had moved to the best place EVER!

And Halloween in our neighborhood was amazing!!

We all trick or treated together

and knew each other's families.....

there were no worries at all ~ just good, clean fun!

When this time of year rolls around, my mind always returns

to this precious time in my life....

no worries, no scary stuff,

just pure fun that all children love!!!

So everything's ready to be filled with lavender...
closing up a few seams...and the most fun?

Adorning them all!

I love choosing sweet buttons, old lace, seam binding and other baubles to

decorate these small sewn treasures ~

Clara was such a happy monster for Halloween and she had a GREAT time!

She's a master of many faces too :) can you tell?

After Clara went trick or treating,

we enjoyed dinner together and looked through all of her loot ~

We left Brent and Emily's house last night

just about the time the candy started kickin' in!!!

Boy, do I remember those days :)

In the thick of it ~

I'm right in the middle of making mitten ornaments for a special order ~ I forgot how pretty they were! There's something about the creamy color of the warm and natural batting. It comes it white too, but I'm always drawn to the cream. Loving lace, buttons and ribbon...this project is always so fun. I get to play with the things I love!

I wanted to show you these beautiful French postcards that I received in the mail from Adrienne ~ I won one of her giveaways on her blog, The Flying Bee....aren't they beautiful?!

Brad and Noah carved their pumpkins and here they are!

Funny, huh? They were the only boys home
to participate in the pumpkin carving this year
but they had a great time together, and even roasted pumpkin seeds!
