Sweet blessings ~

I've been in a stinky mood lately.
Moping around like a sad sack...
worried about things I can't control ~
I need to simply realize
to have a thankful heart for all that is GOOD in life.

I received the most wonderful package in the mail today and...
it made me cry!!!
Lisa of A Thing for Roses wanted my address last week.
She said she had some goodies that I would love and ~
OHMYGOODNESS...
what a beautiful parcel filled with sweet gifts!!!

Pieces of beautiful old lace...

Gorgeous pieces of old jewelry....

Glass buttons...

I'm in love with this card she enclosed too, isn't it gorgeous?

Sweet vintage millinery flowers...

Dear sweet Lisa...
thank you so much for each and every trinket and treasure!!!!
I love it all so much and appreciate you thinking of me!!!
I just know the goodness will come back to you ~

I hope you have a very happy Tuesday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Discovering old treasures ~

The wonderful thing about making new artwork
is digging around
in my studio for stuff to create with!

I love going through jars, boxes or whatever ~
dumping them out and discovering wonderful old things
that I'd totally forgotten about!!!

I dumped my millinery jar out, which had other goodies inside too,
and dug through to see if there was anything I could use
in my recent artwork.

It's just so neat to find a treasure trove
right under your nose!!!
I guess that's the beauty of being a hoarding artist :)

Look at this wonderful old piece of embroidery stamped fabric!
Good ol' Woolworth's...only 25 cents!

I did finish another little Christmas candy cup ornament!
These are so fun to make...
I don't know why, but I just love small things ~
AND I love digging through my vintage lace to make them.
This one features a snippet of cream millinery flowers too!

You can find my new little ornament
in my Etsy shop too!!!

As I was going through a few things,
I found an old pad of paper I found way back when.
In the middle of the pad I found this:

I love, LOVE finding little treasures like this ~
a collection of quotes that someone loved....

I wish you a very HAPPY Friday precious friends!

hugs and love,
Dawn

Pure yumminess!

You know, collecting amazing, old things has it's advantages....
you end up with such a great variety of treasures
to incorporate into your artwork.

Are you going to be making a few things for family and friends
this holiday season?
Cheryl of ZanyMayd has TOTALLY filled up her Etsy store
with tons of treasures to create with!!!!
I love Cheryl's taste in old goodies too :)
Take a minute to stroll through if you will,
you might just find the perfect thing for your next project!!!!

A small sampling:

OH!!!! And look what I found in her Ebay store!!!

PLUS...

Mitzi of Mitzi's Collectibles as a sweet makeover idea on her blog today!!

Neat huh?
love you much sweet friends,

Some favorite things ~

As I took Ellie out before bedtime, this is the beautiful sky I saw. It was even a little cooler ~ the moon was so trying to peek out of the spotty clouds.

The more I work on the yard sale and go through items, I tend to take the smaller items that I know I want to keep to my artroom. Well, by day's end, it had gotten pretty rough looking. I starting straightening a bit and as I finished I started putting a few small items into a grouping that are so sweet to me . . .

A pair of the most precious handmade baby booties ~

A small barkcloth lavender sachet I made ~

A most precious Christmas card that doesn't look Christmasy at all to me but I love the colors ~

A piece of tattered ruffle from what I'm not sure of but it is so old, sheer and soft ~ it's wonderful

A neat old spool with the original cotton twill tape on it with vintage millinery daisies poking out

Tiny little flowers wrapped in old lace ~

Two velveteen bunnies that I love even when it's not Easter

Always, cream and white buttons, sprinkled on a tattered, very well-loved New Testament ~

Seeing beautiful things = beautiful thoughts and

beautiful thoughts = a beautiful you

Happy Thursday dear friends,

xxoo, Dawn
