Spring anyone?

We have been pretty busy around here!!!
Now that Easter has passed and it really IS officially spring,
Tammy and I have been planting so many
wonderful things!
Herbs, ferns, flowers and succulents.

Yesterday the deck was freshened up by new outdoor carpet
until we can get the floor replaced.
What a difference it has made!
New cushions on the chairs make it even better.

You have to plant and pot things here in Georgia
while temperatures are mild because
in about a month it will be pretty hot and steamy!

I just wanted to share a few photos of our beautiful deck!

Dill and basil ~

A beautiful arrangement of potted flowers Tammy put together!

Mint and more flowers.

I love ferns so we have them sprinkled all over.

Rosemary, parsley, oregano and thyme.

Asparagus ferns mixed with sedum. Flower plantings and a fox tail fern!

Chives!

Another gorgeous flower arrangement potted by sweet Tammy.
She does have the touch having been in the floral business for 40 years or so!

A small bed that we planted foxgloves and other flowers.
The plant in front of St. Francis is catnip!

I've hung a handmade wreath on our front screened door,
complete with fake greenery and fake bird's nest.
WELL a little sparrow thought it looked like home
and built her nest right beside the fake one!
We have five little eggs too!!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little tour around the deck
and that spring has arrived for you as well!

We had better enjoy it this next month before the temps rise!

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I'm up too,
Hugs and love,
Dawn

Such a sweet day ~

One advantage to having all the boys over for Mother's Day....
is that I did some much needed
housecleaning to get ready for them!!!

They don't care about the house but, I do :)
I want it to be clean, smelling fresh and always welcoming.

Sweet Brad was the only one that couldn't make it.
He had to work all day
and had tons of college homework due tonight as well.

Dennis prepared the most wonderful meal ~
chicken salad croissants,
homemade pimento cheese,
green pea salad,
hash brown cassarole,
tomatoes, onions and eggs.....
So, so yummmmmmm.

Look at this beautiful bouquet of roses, confederate jasmine
and the biggest pink peony from Brent, Emily and Clara ~

A gorgeous hydrangea bush from my sweet husband ~
I've wanted one so I can dry these beautiful blooms!!!

I have to show you, my baby ivy is growing!!!

And the sweetest gift of all....our little Clara has been taking
her very first steps!!!!

We all laughed though because she wanted the baby
cheese puffs in the can!!!!
Food is a motivator, right?

Here's a little video I want to share with you....
Clara's very first steps!!!!

Have a great Monday my sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Is it Saturday yet??

In my book, you earn each and every penny you get when you have a yard sale! The one GOOD thing is that it's making me go through lots of things. Today I've been going through and organizing my fabric stash. I love my fabric, can you tell? I'm getting the urge to do some sewing too, just moving it around and going through it, makes me want to make something! This is just one shelf that I'm organizing ~ I still have two more to go!! Don't the colors look all nice grouped together? The sad thing is, I've only parted with a small stack so far.....I do have more to sort through, so hopefully the "sell" stack will grow.

This is just one of my favorite framed prints in our bedroom, don't you love the colors?

This is the most adorable little bag that a customer gave me once. It's a flower sack ~ lined with a heavy mil plastic bag so you can add water and a small bouquet of flowers! I was going to make some but haven't gotten around to it! You could leave the flowers in a small vase, then place inside. Hang on a door knob, chair or anywhere you'd love to see fresh flowers!

I hope you're having a great week. I'll be so very thankful when the yard sale is over!

Thank you so very much for so many of your sweet comments about the magazine article!!! You all are such an amazing group of women, I've just never seen anything like it. Have you seen the movie, Steel Magnolias??

Well you ALL are my Steel Magnolias!!!

xxoo, Dawn
