I'm a little late to the party.
You know, the party of folks that know all about
creating patina and age on things!
Well, you saw that I bought these metal label looking things
at Michael's the other day and they tried to give them
a burnished metal look to them but I wanted a little rust and crust
to go along with that!
FIRST, I used an emery board and sanded the fronts of them,
just in case they had some kind of protective finish.
Then, I took a small plastic sour cream container that I'd washed up
and placed about 1/4 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup of vinegar inside.
STINKY!! Take this outside because it really will take your breath away.
I dropped the four metal frames inside and let them sit a few hours.
Using a plastic fork I fished them out and
placed them on a few layers of paper towels to dry overnight.
That's it!
Here's the transformation:
~ BEFORE ~
Here is the AFTER!
Pretty neat, huh??
Thank you so much sweet friends for telling me about this ~
I Googled it too and there were so many recipes
I just did the half and half thing.
Don't you love it when you get the result you were after???
No baby yet. Little Murray must be pretty comfortable...
his due date is today, September 9th though!
So we wait....
I promise to share news as soon as something happens!!
Wishing you a beautiful, peaceful Sunday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
