In my little corner of the world ~

I so hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day weekend!

I had a wonderful time celebrating at my sister-in-law's house

and we were even able to go swimming it was so warm.

All of our boys were there except our oldest Brent, Emily and

our grandbabies Clara and Murray.

They went to Emily's father's wedding in Florida and

Clara was the flower girl. She was so excited ~

Brent shared a few photos with me...

just look at our precious grandchildren!

Another wonderful thing going on around here is that this old farmhouse

got a fresh coat of paint and looks so beautiful!!

Even the metal roof is now sparkly silver!

Rockers on the ready for sweet tea in the evenings...

And guess what? I'm actually managing to keep my succulents alive!

I had to move them off the porch for a few days while it was being painted

and took this photo to share ~

And lastly, I finished two more treasure organizers for a couple of my friends.

By the time they are finished they ending up being really heavy!

I gathered a few goodies from around my studio

and stuffed them into the pockets

to show you how they look when full of keepsakes and treasures.

It's amazing what you can create using a simple drop cloth and old lace!

Wishing you a beautiful Mother's Day!

one sickness,

one fight,

one hug from sweet little arms,

one injury,

one load of laundry (or fifty),

one sweet handmade card,

one messy room,

one little kiss,

one dirty diaper,

one baby's breath on my cheek,

one trip to school,

or one ANYTHING

for the opportunity

to be a mama.

Thank you Lord.....

I am so honored to be the mom of our precious boys.

And thank you to my wonderful mom

for showing me how to BE a mom,

I love you more than you'll ever know....

A sweet day ~

My mother's day was just wonderful!

I slept in and was awakened by our oldest Brent

calling to tell me they wanted to stop in
later in the afternoon to visit.

David and Chase (our next-to-the-oldest and the next-to-the-youngest) said

they wanted to stop by too!!!

Our sweet middle son, Brad,
was in the process of moving so he had a great excuse!

What's even more wonderful?

Brad's money was so very tight with all of his moving expenses

that his brothers pitched in to help him out!

Do you know what this goodness does to my heart???

It makes it SWELL with pride that my babies love one another!

They always, always watch out for each other...

if we've done one good thing in raising these sweet boys...it is this,

that our sons love each other and always care for one another ~

On top of it all...my precious husband cooked us
a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner with

yummy garlic cheese bread!
I truly am blessed....

Blessed beyond measure ~

As we approach Mother's Day

you just know, know and KNOW

that it moves my heart so!!!

Our precious boys truly are

our treasures here on this earth.

That is honestly how I feel...

Yes, I am their mama but these babies

are my sweet TREASURES!

I so LOVED being pregnant each and every time,

I was the goob at work that made everyone

feel my belly so they could feel my baby kicking!!!

And I loved those precious teeny, tiny newborn weeks...

and after a few babes, I realized how very fast

those weeks are gone.

With the last two boys,

I would simply weep in the middle of the night

when they would breastfeed just knowing how

fleeting the time would pass...

As I lay in the bed at night and say my prayers,

I thank the Lord for each and every one of our precious sons ~

I pray for their protection, for their health, happiness and prosperity.

I always keep telling myself,

you have been blessed with FIVE wonderful babies...

No matter what comes your way,

what stumbling block,

or any hard time...

YOU. TRULY. HAVE. BEEN. BLESSED!

ABOVE ALL,
this is my measure of greatness ~

I thank the Lord in HEAVEN above for our five boys...

I so hope that I have been the mother

that You would have wanted me to be ~

and I thank You dear Lord...

for entrusting them to me.

From my heart ~

I was at the store the other day.

And yes, you all know which one, right?

Because I live in a little country town we HAVE one

and can't seem to avoid it!!

Anyway...I looked at the card selection for the perfect

Mother's Day card for my sweet mom.

Nothing.

Nothing really grabbed me.

Yes, there were pretty cards but still,

I hesitated.

I admit that I did hesitate at five bucks a pop,

but I also kept telling myself...

make your own.

Say what YOU want to say!

So I did.

Here is my creative effort for today

but truly?

I'm so pleased!

I love my mama so much ~

It's always amazing to me the friends I've made here!!

Near and very, very far away ~ it doesn't matter,

we are all kindred spirits and know what the other loves!

I received a few parcels this past weekend

and have to share the goodness with you...

A package arrived from sweet Jill who lives in Australia!!
She sent me the most precious treasures ~

A handmade, lace-trimmed pouch filled with sweet things ~

Beautiful buttons, antique lace, sheet music, doll shoes and precious baubles...

I'm just humbled that you would send me these treasures

from so very far away.
