Have you ever driven down the road with two trees hanging out of your car??? Well, I was looking out of my windshield very casually and noticing that people were really staring at me! Now, why would you stare at a woman with trees hanging out of her SUV? I did have the hatch down during my trip to the store but still, having the branches hanging out underneath and the trunks sticking out of the passenger side window was pretty nutty looking I'm sure!
I did smash them into my room at The Plum Tree after a little sawing and adjusting. I always overshoot the size of things but better to take away than not have enough, right? I'm so very pleased with the result though.
I have some really neat artwork I'm about to bring in that will complement the trees and "nature" feel that they give the room. I'll be sure to share photos of them when I complete them, too! Thank you so much for your encouragement in my endeavors!!! So, I'm not really nuts, right?
Oh, and while I was shoving trees in my little room, Cindy and her little painter guy were at The Plum Tree painting the main room the most wonderful, wonderful color . . . it will absolutely take your breath how amazing it looks . . . You go, Cindy!
It really is looking so very beautiful. If you are a customer of the store, you must drop what you are doing and come see us next week!!!!!
Wishing you all a great week ~ xxoo, Dawn

Hi Dawn,
That's what SUV's are for-carrying around all our fantastic finds! The room looks amazing and the trees make all the difference. Can't wait to see it in person.

That must have been a funny sight - can't wait to get down to the store & see all the changes y'all have made. :)
I can imagine the looks you received! But It is going to look so wonderful when you are done!!

I love your blog. I used to read your blog and somehow lost you when I changed computers! Tracey's award brought you back to me. I will enjoy catching up with you.
Wow, what amazing photos! Everything is so beautiful, and your trees look fantastic! In the shop that is, not the one coming out of the window!
I love it!!
Your roo looks great and the trees are a perfect touch, looking forward to the new art!
The room is lokoing fabulous with the tree. Can't wait to see what you put on it. I hope you were waving to everyone as you drove down the street - nothing like an audience.

While I can imagine people staring, I love the idea of putting these into the shop. I can't wait to see what artwork you are going to use. I know that things look smaller when they are not in a room so I can imagine it is easy to get the size wrong. We have done that with a Christmas tree.

I love this! And yes, I've turned heads with trees hanging out of my car--but usually live ones I was going to plant in the garden! What a clever idea you have here. :-)
~Angela :-)
Love the photos. That tree is so neat! That is just going to catch attention. People will be going, now why didn't I think of that!
The tree looks FAB!!! Hey, I've seen all kinds of crazy things in my town the past two days and it's not over here yet. I'm sure it's FAR worse in New Orleans tonight too. I'm sure a tree hanging out of an SUV with a lady driving it wouldn't look too bad compared to some things gong on!
Mercy!
Keep up the good work. You have a lovely blog site and a room.....wish I lived closer I wold come visit forsure!
Be blessed,
Joyce M.
Dawn, that room looks beyond amazing and the trees are the perfect finishing touch!!!
The little corner of your shop looks wonderful & I love the idea of the branches too. You will need a bumper sticker that says "follow me to the plum tree" :-}
Hi Dawn,
I just tagged you for the You Make My Day Blog Award. You can see the rules for carrying on with it at my blog if you want to tag someone else.

How terrific! I think I might go tree hunting myself, but I live in a little townhouse, so it will have to be branches rather than trees...Maybe I will paint it white, no celadon. Off I go. (My husband says I have been off for a while!)
Oh my darling friend, you speak-a my language!!!
I have some birch branches in the corner of my booth (http://retreatdesign.blogspot.com) for exactly the same reason. And I hauled a twelve foot tall 65 pound birch tree into Columbia Winery's gift shop last year, because I wanted to create a draw to the rear of the shop.
I KNOW those looks!!!! But it's oh so worth it when you are able to create the mood you want. And in my world, it's ALLLLLLL about display! ;o)
A teacher I work with put a huge branch like yours in her classroom.
Each month she hung things her K kids made. Birds, hearts, snowflakes, etc. It was really sweet!
