Just tell me . . .

how could you resist a face like this?

oh my.

Has anyone ever said that having a new puppy is a lot like having a newborn? Oh my goodness. My little Ella is just about wearing me out . . . but I'm slowly getting into the groove (funny, how I'm the one that's getting into the groove!) She's been coming to the store with me and is so very tiny and wants to be near me when she wakes. I'm also trying hard to be consistent in potty training her, which so far seems to be going quite well. Whew!

But I have to admit . . . she's absolutely precious!

Then I get a call from Noah's school yesterday. He has a tummy ache and headache. This never fails to happen after school starts. Always. Anyway he's been under the weather yesterday and today. He's going to Grandma's house today while I'm at the store. Hopefully we can get our act together and be back in the groove after this upcoming three day weekend!

That's about how I feel in the picture above, do you see Ella at my feet? :)

A name for the puppy!

OK, I know it's not major newsworthy stuff but to our family it's a good thing. We've not known what to call this sweetie but finally this evening we all agreed.

It's Ella. Or Ellie for short.....and it so suits this little precious one....she's already been so very good about using the potty outside. I'm just amazed! But I've tried to be diligent as I know that's what it takes to house break them. She was only born July 15th so she's still so very young. Her mom stopped nursing the puppies at around 3 or 4 weeks so she's had to buck up and get with the program. I spoon feed her soft food and she's doing so great!! Oh well, enough about that....but really, she is such an angel.

Calling all Victoria readers!!

puppy love ~

Look at the way they are looking at each other!! My youngest son and the newest addition to our family . . . a puppy! She's part chihuaha and part Jack Russell and just about the sweetest little thing ever. We haven't decided on her name yet but we will settle on one soon. Right now she's "little peanut" or "baby". As you can see, after play time she was exhausted!

New Artwork ~

I have just finished a wonderful drawer assemblage and am offering it up for your consideration. I purchased this amazing framed print from my friend Jean Loomis and have had it hanging in my bathroom now for a couple of years! I took it apart and made an beautiful color copy. To look at her face gives me such joy! It truly is a wonderful old print and I'm so happy to be able to share it with you.

I've created this assemblage inside of an antique drawer from a nightstand that had seen better days. Just the detailing on the drawer alone is so very wonderful. The centerpiece of the assemblage is this beautiful vintage woman. I've incorporated the nesting elements that I love and a beautiful old bottle with an "antique" message! I have a nest featured with hand painted and speckled eggs and wonderful old millinery roses....

Please consider this artwork at 54.00 and a shipping cost of 12.00 in the continental United States. Please contact me at sewmanyroses@yahoo.com if you are interested!

Thank you so very much for looking at my blog!!

Let's take a stroll together...

Having had the antique store for a few years now, I have met some of the most wonderful people. Jean is one of them. She has amazing taste, dearly loves antiques and will occasionally have a barn sale and invite us! I find the coolest, old things for the store at her sales.

I had told her that I would love to take photos of her home for my blog ~ well, she said, "Come on over!" And that I did. Her collections are magnificent and her knack for display is just amazing. Here are the photos, take a stroll through her home and . . . enjoy. (Be sure to click on photos to enlarge!)

Thank you, Jean
