Tired....and oh-so-full!

Funny how you rush, hurry and gather to get everything together for Thanksgiving and poof! it's over and you sit around staring, amazed at how quickly it all passes by.

We had Dennis' family's Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, a 50th birthday party for Dennis here at the house Friday night and then today my family was here for our Thanksgiving meal! Talk about tired....thank goodness Dennis loves cooking, he even made his wonderful chili for his own birthday party ~ and the turkey he cooked today was so delicious!
Mom brought all of her traditional sides and
they were as wonderful as ever.
It was so good to spend time with our boys and family...

And now we'll blink and Christmas will be upon us!
But for now, I'm ready to get back in the studio and play ~
a little creating does my heart good....

I hope you have a wonderful, restful Sunday dear friends ~

My Thanksgiving sweetness.....

We had the best time with Dennis' family Thanksgiving day ~ we always do!!! (We have another Thanksgiving celebration with my family Saturday!!) The food was so delicious, and we all were so very thankful for our blessings.

This angel, my dear friends, was the most wonderful blessing of all this Thanksgiving ~

I am so thankful for each and every one of you ~
for your encouragement, your friendship and your inspiration.

So many precious friends I've made here ~ thank you.........

A grateful heart ~

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

~ George Herbert ~

Wishing you all wonderful and happy Thanksgiving my sweet friends!!
hugs and love,

Such small things bring me joy!!

I've been working on our guest bath....and found a shower curtain at Target that the color was absolutely GORGEOUS but when I hung it, it just sagged and hung so strange.....and I just knew it HAD to go back!!!

Well, I ended up at Hobby Lobby and bought curtains!! The same beautiful steel blue shade but so much more lush!!!! Plus look at this toile that I found at Hobby Lobby that coordinates so beautifully!!! I could only get 3/4" of a yard but I will turn it into something wonderful....maybe cover a canvas?? Or maybe frame some??

Don't you love it when things come together??

Hugs and love,

Let's see if this works....

I found this wonderful bird mold on ebay. It's really designed to make ceramic pieces but I wanted it for something else as I don't make ceramics or have a kiln. I wanted to try pressing paper clay into each side, join the two pieces and have a beautiful little bird's my first attempt! We'll see how he dries....I love his chubbiness ~

I'm still fluffing ~ now that the bathroom is completely painted and cured, I've been on the search for a beautiful shower curtain but still haven't found the right one. I know I could sew one but just don't want to really....right now, I have cream walls, chocolate colored towels and rug....

I hope your week is going great and all of your Thanksgiving preparations are coming together!!
Wishing you a great Tuesday sweet friends,

It's good to fluff ~

As much as I love making things, artwork and treasures ~ it does feel good to take a break and give some much needed attention to our home. I tend to just make do when I'm in my creating mode but with the holidays fast approaching, my parents coming for Thanksgiving and staying with us, I want to have a cozy guest room waiting for them. This is the first guest room we've had in a long, long, long while!!

I'm slowly making progress and need to kick it up a notch this week. But I just HAD to show you what my precious friend Karin brought me when she visited the other day!! Two swing arm rods PERFECT for the vintage sheers on either side of the bed!!!!!

I have to hang the mirror, pictures, and other goodies ~ I still have another set of sheers and want to use them in the room too and may layer the window treatment. I have to mull things over for a little while....And I want to make a few cream and ivory toile pillows for the bed, and maybe a few with antique lace and muslin.

Thank you so much Karin, the rods are just PERFECT!!!

Oh and I have some wonderful news!!!

The unthankful heart discovers no mercies;
but the thankful heart will find,
in every hour, some heavenly blessings.

Sweet is the breath of vernal shower,
The bee's collected treasures sweet,
Sweet music's melting full, but sweeter yet
The still small voice of gratitude.

I'm so thankful for your friendship, your kindness and inspiration,
Have a great Monday dear friends ~
