~ ABOUT ME ~

Thank you so much for stopping by The Feathered Nest!
My name is Dawn Edmonson and I am a wife for 38 years to the same wonderful man...
a mom to five amazing sons ages 36, 34, 32, 27 and 21...
then Mimi to four precious grandchildren,
Clara who is 9, Murray is 6, Tilly 1 year and Owen is 2!
Plus we have a another precious granddaughter on the way!!!

I am an artist and a total jack-of-all trades. I absolutely LOVE to create!
It doesn't matter what, I just want to sew, glue, shape, cut, paste or stitch
to make something beautiful that I love
and possibly that someone else will love too!

I've been blogging since 2007 and simply love it ~
I can't help myself...
I've met so many incredible friends through my blog,
so many kindred spirits.
I simply love sharing what I'm up to, what I've found,
where I've been and what I've made.

The images that I share on my blog are usually very, very old,
copyright free and in the public domain so click to enlarge and save them
to use as you wish.

As for my personal photographs, I don't mind if you use them either
but I would love a link back to my blog, The Feathered Nest.
It always feels so good to share!

We found a photo of your paper layered cake on Pinterest and love it! We've tried to find the blog post in which you talk about it, but haven't been successful. Can you point us in the right direction? Thanks, Sarah & Laurie

Dawn!
I have been married to the same man for 32 years, have 4 girls and one boy, ages 30, 27, 24, 21, and 17! I am Mimi to two Grandgirls, 3 1/2 years and 13 months!
I am also a jack of all trades and my studio reflects that!
So fun to meet you and many new bloggers. I have been blogging for ten months and have visited you a few times. I love your angel in the jar....so sweet, I have seen her all over the place on the web!
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Dawn:

I used to get your blog via email but for the past several months it hasn't been coming to my inbox. It's not in my spam either. I really miss your blogs. Is there something that I'm missing? I've been following you for the past couple of years and can't figure out why this is suddenly happening.

Hello Dawn,

I've done a post in my blog about fairies I've made after purchasing your 'Fairy in a Jar' kit. I've acknowledged you and your blog in it. You may like to visit and check it out. Another of the other vintage child images is one I am fairly sure is one of yours generously shared - perhaps you will know it and comment? I tried to find it again on your blog and couldn't.
I am participating in Simply Neutrals Tuesdays with Wen from Apple Apricot. I do hope you'll join us too :) My blog post is here:

Thanks for sharing your vintage images. I would like to do that on my blog too, but haven't worked out the best way to share hi-res images.
Hope to see you joining Simply Neutrals soon.

With much love and admiration,
Jesse XX

May I ask you here and what issue you got the bookplate of the Alice Cary poem with the bird? It’s a portion of the poem In the Dark, was high I am adding to a sampler. I’d like to get a copy of the antique book but I don’t know which version of Belford Annual it appeared in. Can you help? I don’t know much about bloggers and how to reach you. Thanks,Barbara at bat1952@hotmail.com

Dawn,
Thank you for posting about your sweet mom! I lost my mom 4 years ago and I miss her everyday. She was really my best friend and whenever I do things whether decorating or just living my life I want to make her proud! And seeing all the decorating you are doing I know she would be proud of you, your husband and your sweet dad. Please keep posting, I've loved reading each and every one!
In Him,
Roberta
