A very special gift .... and a teeny bit of frustration ~

A dear friend stopped by the house yesterday to drop off a gift she'd made for me ~

well....I'M IN LOVE with it!!!!

I've always admired assemblages inside old clock cases and

Joy made this amazing one just for me!

The shape, the colors, the glass door, the nest...the theme,
just everything about it is so beautiful...

It speaks of time...and how fleeting it truly is ~

Thank you so very much sweet Joy, I will treasure it always!!!

My little blonde forest waiting for something more ~

And then....the baubles.

I was ready to see them! So I'm supposed to wait 24 hours, right?

Well a couple of hours early I decided to see if they were ready.

NOT.

I had to cut, pull and pry with pliers to get these two sweeties out.

But I do love the way they look!

I ruined my mold. Thank goodness it was cheap ~

This harder mold (and a little deeper too) was awful.

I broke it to smithereens ~ but there was a reason and Lisa warned me about this.

It was still a little gooky inside ~ see it on the very top?

So....I'll wait until tonight to try to pop out the others ~

I do love the look of them though, don't you?

I will use them as little embellishments on my artwork...

I guess patience IS a virtue, right? :)

Nests on the brain....

My antique sweet boy photograph doesn't have much to do with bird's nests

except that my boys are always so good about finding me

abandoned nests to display in our home.

Don't you think he's beautiful?

Look at the nest that my son Brent found for me!!

I'll be displaying it in the living room soon ~ still on the branch too!

I love finding gorgeous old nest paintings ~

Nests in old book pages ~

Nests on vintage or antique postcards ~

The sheet music page below doesn't really feature a nest

but don't you LOVE IT???

A cardinal's nest found in our front yard a few years back ~

I'm trying to decide how to display

a beautiful collection of bird nests

that I've collected over the years.

I love SEEING these wonderful creations ~

Maybe they would look good in cubbies or shadow boxes....
and how about displayed on either side of sweet Bucky??

Glimpses ~

A gift from Brad, it had fallen from it's limb....

Great jars to use for artwork, and now I remember
why they don't smell like dill....
because they were bread and butter pickles!!

Some beautiful trim was just too white
for my project so into a hot coffee bath it went!

Ahhh, now it has that soft aged look I love ~

I found this calendar at Michael's for a dollar!!!
The paper is really thin, but I don't care,
the photographs are of the most wonderful things ~
