It's time my friends...time to LET GO OF THE WONDERFUL!!!

So...here's the deal.
I'm going through my amazing hoard...and listing TONS of stuff!!!
It's really time.
I've not been very creative lately but have SO many wonderful things!
Why not pass my found treasures on to another artist???

This is just a FRACTION of my hoard so stay tuned my precious friends!!!

What else have I been up to?
Hmmmm, let's see.
My precious mother-in-law had a birthday SO
I wanted to make a wonderful gift basket for her!!!
Bedroom shoes to keep her feet cozy,
a fuzzy throw to keep her warm this winter,
hand wash and hand lotion,
yummy smelling soap,
the most wonderful smelling candle,
a coffee mug and since she loves wearing silver,
a container of silver jewelry cleaner!
SHE LOVED IT ALL!!! SCORE!

ALSO...I've been working on some wonderful lavender sachets!
They are for a precious friend of mine that will be a vendor
in the Country Living Fair here in Atlanta!!!
EEEEK!
My little handmades will be sold there!!!
Finishing them up this week for her.

And so it goes, this simple life of mine.
Thank you always for taking a peek inside!!!

Wishing you so much goodness and love,

xxoo,
Dawn

In my little world ~

I just thought FOR SURE
I would get back in my creative groove today.
"Thought" being the key word!

But I have to say...art goodies and supplies
always, always get me excited about creating!!!

I had to get out and get a few things we needed the other day
so it was the perfect opportunity
to swing by Hobby Lobby, Staples and Michael's for a quick check
to see if they had something that I was missing out on!

Here's what I came home with:

These rhinestone things are at Michael's and I LOVE THEM!
I know they will be gone soon as everything at Michael's usually is,
so I used a coupon and snagged another card ~

I found this glimmer mist stuff at Michael's too!
I'm not such a glittery girl but I had the girl at the checkout
put a little of this onto a piece of white paper and it looked like
coffee or strong tea ~ so I thought it would be great misted
onto a beautiful old photograph I printed out!

My fav glue stick from Hob Lob...the metal things are from Michael's ~
I want to corrode them more though ~ I love, love using these in my art!

I always use my slide cutter and needed a few new blades.
Did you know that Michael's were THREE dollars more than Hob Lob?
Good grief!

Another tidbit of info...
I take all of my used up printer cartridges to Staples and they
mail me coupons! I had a 10.00 off coupon and was able to get
my fav paper for FREE!!! I also love the 20 lb. (regular paper thickness)
This 67 lb. is not as thick as cardstock but I love printing images on it
when creating my artwork.

Hob Lob had tons of things that were 50% off
and I thought this little pack of stuff looked wonderful!

Here are the metal frames again ~
I need to corrode them a little, just have to figure out how again...

Here's the color of the Glimmer Mist!

When I cleaned out my studio a few months ago,
I noticed all of my metallic and gold paints had dried up so
I also restocked those for the upcoming Christmas season ~
I so love that Champagne shade!!!

And now for a baby update!!!
Emily has been having contractions 20 minutes apart...
she is dilated a full 3 and 60% effaced!
Sooooo...
I'm charging the camera battery right now 'cause
I'm thinking we will have a precious grandson really soon!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Friday and weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A tiny idea ~

All of the stores have so many gorgeous Christmas decorations, right?
Well, when you go shopping the day after Christmas
(or even earlier than that)
and all of those beautiful goodies are half off or even more ~
think a little outside the box!!
Look at things differently to see
if they would work for you in the studio ~

Look at these decorations as art supplies!
I found this gorgeous pearl garland at
Hobby Lobby half off this week!!!
I'm going to stash it away in the studio ~
don't you think it would be beautiful on a collage???

I love you all so much ~
I can't believe tomorrow is already Christmas eve!!!

Happy Thursday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

I might be able to find my stuff now!

Does straightening up your art supplies
get you excited about creating??
I've been trying to put away some of the visual clutter in my studio
and it's really made the space look so much better!!
I have so many tiny things that I thought if I could group
and conceal some of them it would help the room not look so junky.

Remember the piece I found at Michael's Saturday?
I was able to use a half off coupon and of course you know I loved that!!
I've filled it up now....

Ribbons on the side ~

Odds and ends in the top ~

Glitters in the first drawer ~

Assemblage and collage embellishments and doo-dads ~

More ribbon ~

Today I decided that I'd like another piece
of this organizing furniture from Michael's.
Not the same piece but a different one.
I took in another 50% off coupon to use and then
when I checked out it was 50% off already!!
It has four boxes that I just placed the lids on the bottom
so I could use them like drawers.
(I already had the carousel that's on top)

This is now my snippet box, bigger and much better!
Great for saving those tiny scraps that can still be used.

I love my nature stash ~ perfect for assemblages....

I think this is an acorn cap from a burr oak....
doesn't it look like a hat??

Twine, hemp and string ~ a few artificial flowers

Eggs and small pine cones ~

I love getting my supplies organized and so I can find them...
I'm getting there!!

I hope your Tuesday is wonderful sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Keeping the spirit ~

It's always bittersweet when I see pretty lights glowing
on people's homes after Christmas.
It's like they don't want it all to be over....
they want to extend the goodness....
to make it last just a little bit longer.

I always felt that way when I was a child too.
After Christmas eve, after Christmas and then my birthday,
I just wanted the wonderfulness to keep going!!
Yes, New Year's eve and New Year's day were just around the corner
but they weren't the same for some reason.
They didn't hold the "magic" that Christmas did.

But time marches on and we must remember to be thankful
each and every day, to make each day special and
remember to show others kindness and consideration
even when Christmas is over ~
We can keep the goodness going....

Sweet Clara studying the ribbon on one of her gifts Christmas eve....
She's finally just about over that awful bronchitis

She's looking a little serious about this gift business!

Such a sweet angel....she just turned nine months old the 23rd of Dec!

Here's one of my birthday goodies that I found while shopping Saturday ~
I ended up at Michael's with a 50% off coupon
and took the plunge and bought one of these rolling organizers.
It was originally 89.00 and I got it for about 45.00!
Plus I put it together all by myself!
Now I've decided I'd like to have another one ~ we'll see though....

The drawer thingee was a Christmas gift from Dennis!
We found it at Hobby Lobby (I love how it looks old!)
and used a 40% off coupon on it ~
and the jars are Christmas gifts from Dennis as well.
I love storage, can you tell?

I found the mini iron at Hobby Lobby Saturday too (coupon)
and want to use it with the beeswax ~
we'll see if I can do this wax collage stuff....
plus some gesso and styrofoam balls on sale ~

A book I've been looking at and a bundle of sticks!

I guess it looks like some crazy things to buy with your birthday money, huh?
Now I'm in a mega creative mood and
have to get a few art pieces produced and out of here
in the next week for Pam Carriker's book!!!
I feel like I can really concentrate on them now ~

I hope that your Christmas was absolutely wonderful....
And thank you all so very much
for your precious birthday wishes, you SO made my day!!!!!

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have a wonderful Monday sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn
