I just noticed this.
How many posts I've put together since Feb. of 2007!
Wow...it's really amazing, isn't it?

I don't know if blogging is all that it was when I first started though.
Yes, there are a zillion blogs now but blogging just seems different.
Everyone is coming up the newest DIY idea or what to make out of pallets
or a tutorial to share (even if it's totally crazy)
just hoping and hoping that they hit Pinterest paydirt
and get pinned into some kind of epic stardom.

Me, I'm just here making little things and sharing my life with you.
No stardom here but I do have a heaping pile of friends
all around the world ~
Friends that I've known now FOR YEARS!!
That right there is why I still blog.
Plus I do love being able to sell my wares and share ideas!

Now that the studio is so nice and clean,
and I can see my fabrics so easily,
I decided to make a few more lavender sachets.

It's so neat to be able to use a fragment of a torn up old quilt,
a piece of a vintage bark cloth curtain,
lace from the bottom of an antique slip and
beautiful old trims from Germany just to create
a simple lavender sachet.

They're not quite finished but I had to share a peek with you!!
Soon to be listed in my Etsy store ~ stay tuned!

Thank you so much for always stopping by to see me ~
your sweet comments are always treasured!!!

Wishing you a beautiful Wednesday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A little treasure hunting ~

Precious little girl images for you....

This past weekend I was able to get out for a little treasure hunting!
I've turned into the most FRUGAL cheapskate ever, ever.
Mainly because, I have gathered so many goodies already,
So I tell myself it must be amazingly affordable to take it home.
But you know the fun is always the thrill of the hunt!!!

I hit a few antique stores first, one being Antique Griffin ~
an antique mall that I've had several spaces in over the years.
I always, ALWAYS leave with a treasure or two!
Next, I stopped at several thrift stores to see what I could find.
My treasures are few but I'm so pleased with what I came home with!

A couple of old bottles with their original corks ~
snippets of gorgeous, aged, antique lace,
a lovely pair of old clip-on earrings
and remnants of beautiful fabric
(yeah, like I need more of that!)

And a most wonderful find???
This large piece of white chenille fabric...over FIVE yards!
It was a mere fraction of what it would've been at the fabric store.
Now, help me think of something wonderful to create with it....

Many years ago, I made a precious little baby jacket with chenille fabric
and lined it with blue and white toile ~

Well, we are expecting some scary weather here in Georgia for the next few days.
ICE.
I so hope it won't be as bad as they are forecasting.
I usually love winter as it usually so mild here but I have to honestly say
I'm ready for this one to be gone and to welcome Spring!!!

I hope you have a beautiful Tuesday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A little inspiration for you today ~

Sometimes, when I've not really done anything interesting around here,
I love to look through my archives and just randomly choose pics.
Stuff I think you might want to see again or
maybe you'll be seeing them for the very first time!

Because, really ~
you do not want to see photos of me vacuuming and mopping,
because that's what has been going on around here lately!
My mom and dad are coming to town today
to see sweet baby Murray for the first time ~

I made this little doll dress a few years back....and aged it as well.
Seeing this photo makes me want to make a few more!!
I wonder if they would sell in my Etsy shop?

Don't you just love beautiful old book covers?
This one was falling off of an old book I bought,
so I scanned it....click on it a couple of times to see how big it is!

I love, LOVE botanicals and remember tinting these
so they would be sepia toned ~
I still love them so...

The pic below is random but still thought it was good to share again ~
you all know I'm a freak for seam binding!

How I felt after vacuuming and mopping....

One of my favorite images....EVER!

And I'll leave you with a wonderful photo
I took of the antique store I used to own ~
this was the little bitty front porch all dolled up!
Those are gauzy curtains that are hung near each post.
See the "P" on the painted door?
It is one of those vinyl sticker things...neat idea, huh?
The shop was call The Plum Tree Antiques ~
sometimes I miss it but then again, I really don't...
it was fun while it lasted though!

Thank you always for visiting me here
and especially for your precious comments!!!

Have a wonderful Thursday dear friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn
