Rambling on but always wanting to share ~

Seems some days my posts just have to be "whatever" posts.

No particular point...nothing wonderfully new or creative to share,
but yet I still want to post and say hello to you dear friends.

The photo below is one I've always loved.
Our oldest son Brent went to college at Savannah College of Art and Design...
we would visit occasionally and this is a photo I took
during one of those visits.
It was taken in the Bonaventure Cemetery ~
just look at the age and patina on this beautiful monument.

A few free vintage images for you to print to make artwork or even simple cards ~

The photo below is one I took in my old studio and I just love it!
It's of an old little girl's crinoline I had hanging from the ceiling.
Don't you just love how the light shines through it?

Do you remember these?
I scanned the sweet bird and bunny from a vintage coloring book
and cleaned off all of the coloring some little child did ~
Wouldn't they be precious embroidery patterns for Redwork?

Well, that will be the end of my rambling for today...

Wishing you a beautiful Wednesday sweet friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Are you creative if......

You did laundry all day long so your family
would have wonderful smelling clothes
to wear on Monday morn and the rest of the week????

AND are you creative if....
you gave your twelve year old a trim
to his ultra-cool swingin' haircut
that you'd better not cut too much off
or you're dead????
(No, this is not my Noah but the hair is so similar :)

If the answer is YES then I had a wonderfully creative day Sunday!!!!

I have to share some beautiful with you though....
don't we all need just a little beauty
to get us through the day??

A snippet from a Magnolia Pearl shoot featured in a magazine ~
I love the simplicity of this window treatment...

Gorgeousness...

Lace is classic and ALWAYS beautiful, right?

Our oldest son graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design....
a photo I took from the beautiful cemetery in Savannah ~

The front porch of the antique store I used to own.....

Beauty is everywhere.

It inspires us,
it moves us,
and it always makes us smile ~

I hope you have a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A day trip to Savannah ~

Saturday morning all of us girls woke up early, I mean REALLY early (for me :) and headed to Savannah, Georgia for a day trip. Of course I dozed off and it seemed like a quick trip to me!! Sweet Judy drove wonderfully even though my head was bobbing all over the place ~

Savannah was beautiful, just as it always is. Warmish, not the hot, muggy weather that I've experienced in the middle of the summer. thank goodness. Our oldest son Brent graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a film major plus lived there several years afterward so we've visited before when it was very HOT.

We all took a sightseeing trolley ride around the city and you pay for the entire day, get off, visit what you want and wait for the next trolley to hop back on. They are making their rounds usually every fifteen minutes. Cool, huh?

We visited River Street and then had lunch at The Shrimp Factory which was delicious! Then we visited a most wonderful store, @home vintage general....I just LOVE this store! I ended up finding several goodies here and will be sure to share them later.....here are a few photos to give you an idea of what they have to offer....plus the owner has a blog HERE!

Here we all are with our bags of treasures!!! My sweet son David, who still lives in Savannah showed up here to give me a big ol' hug and took photos of the group for us too!

The next wonderful stop was The Paris Market & Brocante ~ another great store to see if you visit to Savannah. Their merchandise is always changing and ALWAYS interesting! They have a blog too, HERE ~

We stopped by Paula Deen's store and looked around too ~

We all had such a great time together....enjoying the city and of course, shopping!!! What an amazing weekend ~ and a wonderful memory! Thank you so much girls ~

Well, it's been two weeks today that Noah broke his leg and he's doing so good!! Tonight he can sleep without his brace on so that will be a great thing! Thank you all so much for your sweet thoughts, prayers and wishes for him ~ you're all such wonderful friends to me.....

Wishing you a great Tuesday sweet friends!

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life ~

I received the most wonderful mail today ~ Tracey from Notes from A Cottage Industry sent me a precious friend package ~ what a sweet surprise!! We both try to encourage one another to be all that we can be, step out of our comfort zones and achieve our bliss!!

Peeling back the pretty tissue and seeing a glimpse of precious pink leather made my heart jump! I can remember seeing these sweet ballet shoes on her blog and here they are in my home!!! Plus a beautiful tag in the shape of angel wings and the most gorgeous rhinestone necklace. Thank you so very much Tracey ~ you know me well and I will indeed make something from these pretties!!

The beautiful bag from my tiny shopping spree at Paris Market ~ I've found that I'm so happy with the smallest of things now. Trinkets, papers, old photos . . . The letters are from @Home - Vintage General ~ I love that they look old.

Below that, some of nature's gifts from the streets of Savannah! I love having these tidbits to use in assemblages. I'm still finishing up some projects that I'm doing for publication.....but soon will be adding to my Etsy store again!!!

Just a few more shots of Savannah ~
I promise that's it though :)

Don't know why I'm so tired but I am ~ maybe it's because I'm not used to getting out much!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends ~
xxoo, Dawn

A scary haunted house . . .

A wall of gravestones that have lost their place and now stand along a wall in the cemetery ~
