Book love ~

From the looks of our home....I cannot deny my true love for books!!!

They are EVERYWHERE!

I use them in decorating, in my artwork and

even sometimes to read :)

I don't really read novels but love

artist, educational, how-to and decorating books....

And of course I cannot resist an old, tattered book too!

I saw this display at Paris Market in Savannah, GA and loved it!

the title is so WONDERFUL and has become my motto for life!!

Why am I drawn to these photos of strangers?
Their faces...the beautiful shades of sepia ~
I love tiny leather pouches and
have used them in my artwork before.
And of course, you know one can NEVER have enough buttons....

Raggedy old books...
one is even a French text book from college!

A year book from an all girls school ~
The cover is what sold me....

And I discovered that I'm in love with Ace Hardware.
I found this wonderful wire that I'm going to use to make hangers
for these cool glass containers.

This one even had a little rust!!!

I've been working on another load to take to the antique space Friday.
We're slowly getting things together and
we don't actually pay rent until March 1st ~
and we've already almost sold enough to pay it!!

And I just have to show you this!
Tammy from Rock River Stitches bought my fairy in a jar tutorial
and placed a photo of her little grandbaby's face over the fairy's!
I just love her Tammy!!

I love old stuff ~

I found a home for my new black umbrella....my new black 4.00 umbrella......it may not stay here but I kind of like it!

I stopped by The Plum Tree and found a few treasures I just couldn't leave without ~ a drawer perfect for an assemblage, a wonderful old ledger book and a sweet little doll dress. I also had to get the newest issue of Romantic Homes ~ and a couple of candles.
I love The Plum Tree....and I love old stuff!

Beautiful old pages ~ I love these cast-offs

As I was arranging these old books on a shelf in the new studio, I had to take a photo for you. The tattered bindings, covers and pages are all something that I love. Some I use for my artwork, giving the pages a new life and some are too wonderful to use the original so I'll scan the page in and print it out or have color copies made.

This little bundle of goodness are the gatherings that I collected during our last trip to Savannah. Some of the moss that hangs from the old trees, pieces of a palm tree that had fallen to the ground and small fragments of shells. I saved these things to make a memory assemblage of our trip.

Remember the ephemera idea? Sewing the paper clips onto the long strip of fabric? Well, I am such a cheapskate that I wouldn't pay the money that they were asking (I didn't find the round ones, just the "S" shaped ones) so I thought I'd try these teeny clothes pins! I'm worried about damage to the brittle papers and I think they'll be a little more gentle to the paper that the paper clips. We'll see....

I'm slowly getting things put away ~
