Hello November!!!

It seems that this time of year ALWAYS gets my creative juices flowing!
The cooler temperatures and the changing of the seasons
makes my mind spin with all kinds of ideas.

Here are a few of the things that I've made lately.
It seems all of them are under glass for some reason!

Please be sure to check my Etsy store as a few things have
been listed in there and some of these items have already sold.

Does fall inspire you to create too???

Two altered apothecary jars with French labels
and other pretty embellishments!

This one is in my shop!!!

These have all sold but I just LOVED making these bird-inspired jars.
Nests, eggs and pieces of nature all captured under glass ~

And lastly, I've been making ornaments using 6" glass test tubes!
They are approximately 1" in diameter. I've added glitter snow,
a tiny bottle brush tree and other goodies to make a pretty Christmas ornament.
They can hang on a knob or on the Christmas tree!

And of course, loving natural elements, I had to try to make a few botanical test tubes.
They are my very favorites! I love drying flowers and other greenery
so I've made little gatherings for each test tube.

It's so nice to be able to use the things that you've been gathering and collecting.
I have dried flowers everywhere, stems from pretty bushes,
feathers and other fragments of nature to use.
But it seems when you place them under glass
it gives them a special kind of importance!

Thank you always for stopping by to see what I'm doing and
I hope that I can inspire you to make something beautiful ~

hugs and love,
Dawn

Simple pleasures ~

I don't care how many blogs you visited...
or how many pins you have seen and pinned...
there's just nothing like having a beautiful
book in your hands and it crackling as you open
the cover for the very first time!

I love sharing books that I love with you here and
have found a wonderful one!

You may remember Claudia Strasser from her first book
Well...she has a new book out and I LOVE IT!

The new book is
Paris Flea Market Style
and I just have to share a little sneak peek with you.

I'm about 99.9% sure that I will never make it to Paris
so simply enjoying this beautiful book and
the gorgeous French treasures
gives me such pleasure!

See what I mean??
And this is just a fraction of the gorgeousness...
Have I read one word of it?
No, not yet.
I was too mesmerized by the photographs!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

A few sweet treasures ~

This past weekend we did a tiny bit of treasure hunting...
you know how much I love that!
Well, I'm very cheap and selective it seems these days,
but I did find a few wonderful things ~

Here's my little haul:

I love the graphics on this tin!
It's a repro but I don't care ~
the color is so pretty to me too.

And I have ALWAYS wanted one of these "Pin Money" banks!!
I can't believe I found one for such a great price too :)

The stopper was inside and I was able to get it out easily.
But it didn't fit very well so I tossed it.
Like I'm really going to put money in it anyway!!

Sweet, old cuticle scissors ~ rusty and beautiful.

I loved this little book too....
a French to English...
English to French dictionary!
It's the most wonderful small size.

It's in a teeny bit of rough shape but you know I don't care!
Do you think it's been to France and back?

A new TJ Maxx store just opened near us and I had to go check it out!
I found a box of heavenly rose scented dusting powder and
this beautiful box of note cards ~
right up my ally, don't you think??!!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me....
Wishing you a beautiful day precious friends!!!

hugs and love,
Dawn

New handmade goodies!

First, a few fern images ~
I love ferns...I love MY ferns!
I have four on the front porch and LOVE it when
they are full and lush....

Can you tell what they are?
iPhone cases...in progress!
I used canvas drop cloth fabric, tan and cream ticking and
warm and natural batting sandwiched between.
All have been laundered and pre-shrunk, so that's a good thing!
The pic below is BEFORE embellishing ~

Here are the AFTER pics!
I only made two, just testing out the fabrics and style ~

Just listed in my Etsy....I think I'd like to make more of these!
They were really fun and now that I have the method
down pat, it will go faster next time, don't you think??

Today we will attend the mini graduation
of our youngest son, Noah, from middle school
to HIGH SCHOOL!!
Plus it's the last day of school for Noah for the summer
YAAAAY! For him AND me!!
Being the night owl I am,
believe me, it's a good thing :)

Have a wonderful Friday precious friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn
