I love getting great mail!

Sweet mail arrived today ~ my very favorite Stampington magazine ever....Somerset Life! I still have a hard time calling it a magazine, it's so wonderful. Full of creative ideas that you can refer to over and over. My little bird girl dress and botanical canvas art are inside this issue. I took a few photos to give you an idea of what's inside....

ps...It has rained so much here in Georgia. There are many areas that were and still are flooded but fortunately our county hasn't experienced any severe flooding. It has been awful for so many, please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers......

Wednesday I did a few things around the house and started writing an article that's due Friday...eeek! It's progressing nicely but doesn't leave much time for creating new goodies. I strolled through my photographs to find some of my treasures to share with you.

You may remember some of these or maybe not, no matter...seeing these beautiful treasures again even inspires me by just looking at them!!

Just looking at what I love to collect inspires me!! Pull those collections out, group them on a side table or hang them as a valance, drape them on your lampshades or sew them on your ready-made pillows, stack them by a lamp or nestle them onto your shelves....just so you can SEE these wonderful things that inspire you each and every day!

Recycling can be a creative thing ~

That's really how I feel too ~ maybe that's what I should call what I love doing ~ Creative Recycling!

Sunday afternoon I was able to steal away and do a little treasure hunting by myself. Which is always a good thing because I'm as slow as molasses in the winter. I'm too afraid I'm going to miss something. I started outside in the parking lot of Peachtree Peddler's Flea Market & Antique Mall . . . there's always folks set up selling what they don't want in their homes anymore. I'm constantly looking for shadowboxes and this one was a great find ~ I'll be ripping off the back and removing the lovely vases of flowers and add a few nests, eggs and bird ephemera!

Another baby dress, I know, I know, I need baby dress therapy but I promise I'm still thinking of something to do to these lovelies . . . and of course, the little shoes, I couldn't leave them could I? These were found inside in the antique mall and I tell you I dig for my goodies and make sure the prices are great.

Now these aren't old but I found them at Michael's and am wanting to place them inside something that I have in mind to make ~ kind of like weights?

And this precious photo, just look at this couple, they look like teenagers! So sweet ~

Oh and of course a music book. I think something had been gnawing on it at some time but I don't care, these little music sheets will have a new life now.

Just one more shot of the baby shoes, I'm not sure of the material, maybe wool?

Three sweet little girl bears ~

Why in the world do I turn everything into a little girl? I just don't have a clue :)

Each bear has been adorned with lace, an antique baby dress or doll dress, antique buttons, I changed each one of their eyes to more of a "shoe button" look ~ rather than those big commercial looking eyes. They each have their very own "watch" and bracelet with a picture of a little girl. Plus each one has their very own necklace!! I should get these in my Etsy shop today ~

My sweet treasures from the field trip!

I had to wait a day to post the photos of my goodies from Antiques in Old Town because I had so many photos of the store in my last post! It was incredible. I wish I could have taken you all with me!! First, look at the sweet bag my things were tucked in, simple but so pretty to me ~

I know, I know, I'm nuts but I found the most wonderful old doll dresses all tattered up....eeek! I love them! A beautiful old reader with sweet illustrations, falling apart but that's why I love it....an amazing jar that's just calling for a nest with eggs....speaking of eggs, I found these pretty beige ones and blue speckled ones too.....3 little butter pats that are wanting to become Christmas ornaments.....a pepper shaker for Dennis to cook with.....a tiny pig book, look at their faces!......an old stained baby slip and why did I buy this except that it's just so precious, the bodice of an old baby dress...that's right, just the bodice, no skirt, no sleeves ~ I know, I know, I'm nuts.

If you ever see something on my blog from an old book or something that is copyright free that you'd like for me to scan, just ask me, I'll be happy to share!! I'm going to scan the sheet music that Nita sent me about the birds in the next day or so ~ for you Laurie and for all the other bird lovers too!

A couple of new Etsy items & baby dresses!

I wanted to show you what I did with the little poem that I wrote about the fairy in the jar. (It's included in the tutorial)

I've tied them to the top of the jar and slightly curled them and aged the edges with ink . . . now, these are ready to mail out ~

Here are the precious baby dresses that I bought from Cathy at Hazelruthe's ~ why in the world do I love these so?? I can't explain it but I do. I don't pay alot, 3 - 5.00 is all and I guess that's what makes collecting them so fun.
