Such sweet stuff to share!

What a difference a great night's sleep makes!!
(plus a little Benedryl)
I'm already feeling better!
I've just GOT to share a few wonderful tutorials I've found with you!!

First, Cathy of Hazelruthe's has shared a beautiful star tutorial and
chances are, you have all of the supplies on hand :) to make them too ~

And Nancy of Sugar Lump Studios is sharing a bunch of tutorials with
the first one being today....her Button Fairies!
Aren't they precious?

Beautiful, huh?
As tight as the economy is, it's wonderful to know
that with your own two hands,
you can create something lovely and special
to give someone or even decorate your own home
by simply using things you already have!!!

Don't be intimidated....just dive in!
You can do it :)
Trust me, the more you create,
the easier it gets and the more adventurous you will feel...
And what's more precious than giving someone a small
trinket that you created yourself?

Have a wonderful Thursday dear friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Don't forget about my free tutorials! Plus my little WIP...

If you visit my blog regularly, you know I have my little tutorial shop
but you may not have noticed in my left side bar
I have a few free tutorials I've offered in the years past ~
They're easy and FUN!!

You can find my rag ball ornament tutorial HERE ~

And my mitten ornament tutorial HERE ~

OK. Seems I'm always trying to figure out
what Blogger is up to with our images....
I like clicking on images and saving them at their "real" size...
and sometimes it's much larger that what you see!

Here's what I've figured out now:
click on an image ~
you will be taken to a "slide show" type of window.
Then RIGHT click on the image and select "VIEW IMAGE" with a left click.
A new window will open.
You may even be able the left click the image again
and it will appear even larger!

THEN you can RIGHT click it and select SAVE IMAGE
and save it to your own computer.....
give it a try ~ I hope it works for you :)

I played with my bottle brush trees again!
I'm not quite finished with them...but I had to show you what
I've finished so far ~ this one is teeny tiny and will be
housed inside a vintage baby food jar!
The tree itself stands only about two inches tall ~

I don't even have the top screwed on all the way but you get
the idea of how it will look under glass. I still want to
add a few pieces of seam binding garland that has been split
and ringlet curled....

What do you think about these blue trees?
They are really beautiful in person!

My decorations?
Broken strands of vintage pearls...I just love them!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me!!
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Evergreen bundles ~

Sometimes the most simple ideas can spark your imagination ~
This is one of those...

I've been thinking of these little evergreen bundles and wanting to share them with you. I have little conifer bushes around my garage and snipped a small limb off.

I cut it into three pieces, but you gauge how large
you want your bundle to be ~

Lay the very tip on top of the middle section to form a bigger bundle ~

Take about a 24" length of hemp and tie, wrap and knot the bundle together leaving two strands.

Tie on a snippet of old lace and you could even add a strip of ribbon you love, seam binding or a strip of torn fabric ~ tie onto your bundle. This is where you get your creative energy going...maybe tie on a cinnamon stick, red berries....etc.

I've added an old clip-on earring to the bundle.

So now, instead of hanging tassels on your cabinet knobs or doors.....

Hang a festive greenery bundle to add a special touch to your home or gifts!! Plus you can salvage your lace and earring should the greenery dry out after Christmas....

Any greenery will do, clippings from a pine tree, boxwood or even a snippet from a shrub outside your door ~

A few Santa tags for you!

Look at Diana of Vintage Blue Studio's new snowman ornament!!!!
I love how different they all can look ~ use your creativity, the colors you love and make your own little snowman ornament ~

Today we just about finished up our Christmas shopping!!!! YAAAAAY!!! I'm so proud to have it done ~ just a few gift cards left and they are pretty stress free.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn
