Friends add such sweetness to our lives ~

Today was the most fun! Karin of One Perfect Little Miracle came to my house for a little visit. She's such a sweet person, always so very thoughtful. We had homemade chicken salad on fresh baked croissants, sweet red pepper and tomato soup and cake mix cookies for dessert!

Don't you love it when a day turns out exactly how you pictured it in your mind? Today was that day. We had the most fun talking, eating, sharing and even a little creating thrown in!! I have to show you the most incredible gift she came bearing....a hand written bird journal from 1910!!! Look below at a couple of the pages, it's just beautiful to me. Fresh eggs from her hens that are the most beautiful things ever, and I can't wait to cook up a few! And last but certainly not least, the new issue of MaryJane's Farm magazine!! Karin has a wonderful article inside where she's created a fairy bed! Just beautiful, Karin.....

After lunch we went into my artroom and since I'd been cleaning, rearranging and decorating so much, I hadn't had time to finish her gift but knew it wouldn't take much more to finish it. I had started a silver sugar dish pincushion earlier and we just sat in my room as I completed it. I know she'll get a ton of use from it as she's quite the seamstress! Thank you so much Karin for my wonderful gifts and a sweet day of friendship ~

And since I gave you such dark photos earlier, I thought I'd take a few in the daytime, helps alot doesn't it?? I know your sick of seeing my house but I just wanted to show you the living room a little brighter!!

I found a wonderful new issue of MaryJane's Farm magazine at Barnes & Noble the other day! I'm probably the least likely person to be a farm girl but I do love MaryJane and love the vintage stitchery, needlework and other things they feature in these issues.

This is really a GREAT issue to me! Plus, there are a couple of beautiful pages featuring my sweet friend Karin's five star hen house!! These hens have it made! Karin, you really outdid yourself and I'm so very proud of you girl . . .

Well, I can't believe it's Friday again ~ seems they roll around pretty fast! We had our school open house Thursday afternoon and Noah's teacher seems so sweet. Can you believe they start school Monday? Don't feel too sorry for Chase and Noah though, they have a week off coming up in September...

It was truly time to buy some magazines. How long can a girl last without them? They are my vice, not such a bad one, I don't think so anyway!

Here's what I found today:

MaryJanes Farm magazine chock full of the neatest recipes and a lot of projects. I love projects. Plus a dear friend Karin of Meandering Travels of Mindless Thoughts is featured!! She won a pinkeep contest and they have a picture of Karin and her beautiful pinkeep inside ~ It really is so pretty Karin, I can see why they chose yours as the winner!

The latest Romantic Homes ~ I always love this one and Lidy of French Garden House is featured in the blogging section!!

And of course, you know that I had to buy this lovely magazine, Somerset Studio. And I promise I didn't JUST buy it for the ad of my baby shoes!!! It's a wonderful issue as they all are ~ so much amazing artwork inside. Hope you all aren't going to be tired of seeing these little things before the July issue hits the newstands!!! I'm such a goob, I want to lay it out on the coffee table opened to them! Thank you all so much for letting me know about it ~ I've been kind of holed up here at the house for awhile and decided it was time to get out and see what was new at Books-A-Million. I'd still like to get the newest Artful Blogging too but will probably get it by the end of the week!
