Found...some good stuff!!!

I love me a trip to the thrift store!
Sometimes you find wonderful things,
sometimes not.

But when you do? It's always such a good thing!!!
I found this amazing little lamp yesterday and just have to share it with you:

The sweet plaque?
A Christmas gift from my son Brad...
who knows I love, LOVE my creative space!

And another wonderful find from the thrift just a few days ago ~
a small, leather FOSSIL bag!!!
I am in LOVE with all things FOSSIL and now have THREE leather bags
from them that I've found these past few years.
This one will be a perfect flea bag, don't you think???

And just guess who's back in my studio?
My precious old sewing machine!!!
The technician says she's on her last leg as he can't get Janome parts...
I've been sewing with her for almost 22 years now.
Makes me sad but when I tested her out, she did beautifully!
I say we're back in business sweet friend!!!!

Happy Wednesday my dear friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn

I can't help myself....

I'm out shopping for Christmas gifts, and I pop in Hobby Lobby, just to pick up some beeswax because I've been dying to try it in a collage
(And of course I have a coupon I need to use too!) ~

Well, I find a gorgeous cream tulle remnant, 4 yards for not even three bucks....gotta have it! I have a thing for cream tulle....I used it as garland on my Christmas tree last year. I bought a big roll at Michael's with a coupon (it's about 6" wide by tons of yards long)...I can't find it anywhere!!! What is that? I'm sure it's up in the attic and the boy's aren't finding the right box it's in :)

Anyway, I pass a thrift store while out Christmas shopping....well, let's just see if they have anything interesting.....

several tiny old ornaments ~ with the perfect patina!

A bebe crock pot for my wax, 2 bucks!!! A wonderful old hat case that I just love, only three dollars!! I know they're not Christmas gifts BUT they were really, really inexpensive things ~ an old dictionary for cents, the old aquarium I found at an antique mall last week for a mere 7 dollars, I just forgot to show it to you :)

I love this old jar, .99 ~

I did buy a few Christmas gifts while I was out too!!

I tried making a few pom-poms out of the tulle for our Christmas tree ~ We have a cathedral ceiling and we've placed our 6 ft tree on top of a table to make it seem grand and I hate to get it down to do the garland, drape thing so I thought, how about bunches of tulle tucked into the tree?

I cut the piece of tulle 8" x about 54"
Also cut an 8" piece of thin wire
and starting bunching from one short end ~

Cinched it up in the center of the 8" with the wire ~

Pulled up both sides and cut it with scissors so the edges would be even ~

Tied it with a thin strip of tulle, tie it tight in a knot. (This is where it reminds me of those little ghosts we made when I was a child out of tissues and yarn!)

A simple poof of tulle ~ I need to make more to see what I think of the look :)
I'd better hurry though, Christmas is coming fast!!!

A few wonderful things I'd love to share with you ~

Kathy of Sweet Up-North Mornings made this gorgeous angel in a jar as a tribute to her precious friend she recently lost in a car accident....I had to show you how beautiful it is ~
hugs and love to you dear Kathy.

Tammy from The Other Side of Me made the most precious snowmen from my Sparkly Snowman Tutorial!!! I love them Tammy ~ yours are absolutely wonderful!!!

Twyla and Lindsey of Two Crazy Crafters
are so sweet to share a beautiful tag tutorial HERE!

Viola is have a most beautiful giveaway HERE ~

Marie of Spun by Me is having a wonderful giveaway too!!! Just click HERE to see ~

Whew!!! Big post! I hope you all are doing wonderful.....
Please say a little prayer for baby Clara,
she has croup and is coughing terribly.
When your babies are sick it hurts your heart ~

I hope you have an amazing Wednesday
filled with the Christmas spirit!
hugs and love,
Dawn

I am lovin' the thrift store today!

I love going to the thrift store and finding things that I would normally buy as art supplies but finding them for such a deal!!!! Jute, hemp (love using it in my artwork), muslin pieces, some neat twill tape, the coolest little word book, and then these precious patent leather mary janes....pincushions maybe??

But the best, best thing was this paper organizer I found that was dirty, had spiderwebs, coffee stains on top and I took it to the front and asked the price . . . 2.99!!! I ran out the door with the thing on my back! I think it will only hold 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper but I have tons so I'm hoping it will help me with organizing. But guess what. Now that I have this little jewel I want to rip apart my artroom and totally organize and re-do! Help!!!!

I'll be adding the items below to my Etsy shop soon ~ the shoe's already there but the other goodies with be listed at good prices!

I love new bloggers. You know why? Because they are so excited and also that they do not realize yet the amazing world they are entering!!! A place of wonderful friends, sweet gifts from giveaways or random acts of kindness, prayers offered up for their loved ones or themselves, concern if they haven't posted and everyday encouragement, inspiration and enlightenment.

I would love for you to please visit sweet Myrna at More Than Heirlooms and welcome her to this Land of Blog!!! Her artwork is beautiful and I'm just so glad she's here!!!! Don't you love this piece she made below??!!
