Don't blink! Life is passing by at warp speed ~

For the past few weeks we all have been preparing for a big milestone
in the Edmonson family...
Our youngest son, Noah, graduated from high school this
past Friday evening!!!

I can't even believe our baby is now out of school and
beginning his journey into the next stage of his life.
Sweet boy ~

Our precious granddaughter Clara watching her Uncle Noah walk!

Clara and Murray, our sweet grandbabies, celebrating Uncle Noah!

Congratulations precious boy!!!!

In other news...
I've been wanting to embroider for a while now so I thought
I'd sketch out something simple and give it a go!

My drawing is a very simple dandelion that I thought
would look wonderful on the front of several sachets.

I love how they turned out! These two are left in my Etsy store if you'd like to take a peek!

Now to sketch out a new design.
I loved sitting in the living room in the evening,
relaxing and stitching!!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me ~
hugs and love,

Wishing you a beautiful Mother's Day!

It's the greatest blessing you will ever receive.
The most fulfilling job you will ever do.
The hardest thing you will ever undertake.
And the most rewarding accomplishment in your life.

~ me ~

I have been blessed five times over with our sons and
I wouldn't trade one day,
one sickness,
one fight,
one hug from sweet little arms,
one injury,
one load of laundry (or fifty),
one sweet handmade card,
one messy room,
one little kiss,
one dirty diaper,
one baby's breath on my cheek,
one trip to school,
or one ANYTHING
for the opportunity
to be a mama.

Thank you Lord.....
I am so honored to be the mom of our precious boys.

And thank you to my wonderful mom
for showing me how to BE a mom,
I love you more than you'll ever know....

A Mother's Love

Author Unknown

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.

There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.

For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

PLUS I just HAVE to share my finished purse with you!!!!
I broke needles, I cried a little but finally accomplished what I set out to do.
To transform a linen blouse into a beautiful purse ~

You can see more of it in my Etsy shop if you'd like to take a look!!

Happy Mother's Day precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

These are a few of my favorite things ~

Wednesday I did a few things around the house and started writing an article that's due Friday...eeek! It's progressing nicely but doesn't leave much time for creating new goodies. I strolled through my photographs to find some of my treasures to share with you.
You may remember some of these or maybe not, no matter...seeing these beautiful treasures again even inspires me by just looking at them!!

A gathering ~

Fairies ~

Rhinestones and lace ~

Antique papers and images ~

Old tattered books, antique buttons and keys ~

More antique lace ~

Birds, nests and speckled eggs ~

More tattered old books ~

More antique buttons on their original store card!

Uh, more old buttons, sorry, I'm a little obsessed here ~

Vintage baby dresses and doll clothes ~

Old sheet music ~

Wonderful old baby shoes ~

Antique embroidered linens and again, surprisingly...old lace!

Just looking at what I love to collect inspires me!! Pull those collections out, group them on a side table or hang them as a valance, drape them on your lampshades or sew them on your ready-made pillows, stack them by a lamp or nestle them onto your shelves....just so you can SEE these wonderful things that inspire you each and every day!

Wishing you a wonderful, inspired Thursday!

A woman's handiwork ~

As I sat looking through my stash of vintage linens, I began piling them up on the bed and realized how beautiful they all were, lying next to one another. Who knows how old each piece is, some are tattered and some are stained. Some were purchased just for the stitchery. But what remains beautiful to me is the handiwork that some sweet soul sat and created, stitch by stitch, thread by thread.

I truly feel honored to own pieces such as these. They're not pristine and that's fine. What really matters is that they are here with me, and that they are loved and appreciated. I'd like to think that that the artist, mother, grandmother or sister that created these stitcheries, linens and lace is happy that they've found a home.

One more little goodie to throw in the giveaway pile!!!

Wishing you a very happy Friday!

Treasures don't have to cost a fortune ~

I found a few more treasures when I was out shopping yesterday ~ Do you love doll clothes? I don't know why but they are so adorable to me! Especially white, cream and pastel colored items. I always pick them up when the price is good and these were only about 2.00 for all four pieces! I want to create something with them but haven't quite gotten to that yet.

The linens are old and need a nice, gentle wash but look at the detail on the doily in the center! Just beautiful and a .50 each I knew these wonderful old linens, stains and all, were coming home with me!

This old pillowcase is stained quite bad but the stitchery is so pretty ~ and look at the pink birds!! I've used these edges as flaps on pillows that I've sewn before. Or maybe transformed into a lavender sachet?

I ended up at Target after my little antique shopping spree and look what was on the clearance shelf?! The same notecards that I featured on my blog a few months back! I think they are wonderful so I grabbed a package of these. They were around 4.50 or 4.98 a package ~

Also on clearance, these three ring binders. Aren't they so pretty? I'm not sure what I'm putting in them but for only 2.50 each they were another must have!

One other little bag I bought at the antique store contained a broken strand of pearls and a broken pin ~ BEAUTIFUL! Why are the broken, old objects so wonderful? Because they have potential and possiblity. They could be transformed into a simple cluster on a button bottle or an adornment on an assemblage. Turning a broken, forgotten trinket into a beautiful centerpiece truly brings me bliss!

Wishing you a wonderful Thursday ~ xxoo, Dawn
