Happy fall dear friends!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted!
Time flies no matter what you're doing!

It's been busy around here since I last posted.
I pulled out some antique lace and was playing
with a paperweight in these pics.

Well, the pickets on the front porch of the studio
were really janky and not spaced well.
My dad took them all off and replaced them a few weeks ago!
They now match the spacing of the stairs too.

Then I had to add a few porch curtains and love how they look!!

Next, I hand painted a new sign to add to the top of the stairs!

In between all of this, I had to go through all of my mama's things
as we planned to have a yard sale the beginning of October.

This was not an easy task and wouldn't wish it on anyone.
It was like saying goodbye all over again.
We made it through though and donated what was left.
I even cried at the thrift store.

We also had brand new double-pane windows installed in our new home!!!
They are absolutely wonderful!

I took several small pieces of artwork to a wonderful antique store
here in our new hometown, Lazy J Mercantile!

There were five pieces and now there's only ONE left!!!
WOO HOO!!!!
It's so cool when someone loves what you make!

AND....of course I couldn't leave empty handed when I picked up my first check!!!
Look at this gorgeous bridal crown, antique muslin bag
and a pair of rhinestone shoe clips I bought...
I SO LOVE IT ALL!!!

It's now the middle of October and
the weather is finally cooling here in Georgia.

Fall has always been my favorite time of the year.
Cool breezes and gorgeous blue skies always make me smile!!!!

Thank you always for stopping by sweet friends,

Much love,
Dawn

Welcome back sweet muse!

It's funny how our creative muse works (or doesn't!)
Seems mine's been on break for quite awhile but
is slowing returning!

I think it may be the changing of the seasons.
Fall is my very favorite and it always brings creativity!

So, in returning to blogging a little more often,
I thought I'd share a few projects that I've recently finished.

First, I've altered a beautiful bottle that I've had for years.
Yes, years.
It has beautiful lines and I finally decided it was time
to give it a facelift!

I've used wonderful wedding lace and even a piece of the back
of a vintage wedding dress to feature the gorgeous satin buttons.
Of course I had to add my favorite seam binding and
even a vintage rhinestone pin.

The French label is a favorite of mine and suited it perfectly!
The small ruffle under the satin button section is actually
the wrist section from a vintage sheer glove.

Yes, I cut it to pieces. But I only had one and now it looks
so pretty on the neck of the bottle.

It would look beautiful displayed in a bathroom or on someone's dresser.
I've added it to my Etsy store if you'd like to take a peek!!

I also finished a few pressed flower bookmarks!
These have already sold but I plan on making more.
I have a huge phone book FULL of pressed flowers!

I'm sharing the photos below because I simply love drying flowers.
They are beautiful to me alive or as they dry!

And lastly, this girl.
Thelma seems to love my new throw and has claimed it as hers!

Next up?
I'm going to alter a few apothecary jars!
I'll be sure to share as soon as I'm finished ~

Thank you always for visiting me here!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

A few pretty things ~

I finally feel like I'm getting back into a bit of a creative groove!
It always helps me if I start with familiar things,
just like these lavender sachets.

Pulling out fabrics, lace and seam binding always gets me on a roll ~
I made a few of my classic wedding lace sachets but made a few
that are a little different! I used a beautiful brown velvet type material,
a gorgeous snippet of brown and blue antique lace trim with a bit of cream lace
and just love the end result!!!

All the sachets have been listed in my Etsy shop if you want to take a peek...

When I was cutting out the sachet fabric I cut out a few needle books as well.
Now to get to working on those ~
I still haven't gotten my sweet old friend (my sewing machine) back
from the repair shop but hopefully I will get it this week.
Thank goodness I have a back up machine
or I really would be chomping at the bit!

I hope you all are doing so good and staying warm!
The weatherman is saying we may have snow
this Wednesday in middle Georgia...
oh well, we'll see what happens!

Wishing you a beautiful Monday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

There are angels among us...

I just love beautiful angel images...
and love, LOVE creating angel themed artwork.

I know they watch over us and are most likely
our loved ones who have passed on before us ~

I finally finished my tattered angel!
She was primed, painted and the stand was antiqued.
The small dress form stands 16" tall and
is adorned with several old treasures...
An old doll dress has been shaped to fit her ~
and another little doll dress serves as her petticoat.

Vintage millinery and seam binding were used to cinch her waist
and antique lace was used as a camisole.
Even a new-made-to-look-old rhinestone charm adorns her neck...

She is already sold but I just had to share her with you!!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me ~
Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends!!

hugs and love,
Dawn

Altered apothecary bottles ~

I've had these gorgeous old apothecary bottles
for several years now.
But it was time to let them go... and time
for them to be transformed into
something beautiful ~

With wonderful old French label copies,
(That I'm sure are from Karen at The Graphics Fairy!)
antique laces, crinkled seam binding and of course
a fragment of vintage rhinestone jewelry
I believe they now have a new purpose!!!

Both are in my Sewmanyroses Etsy shop if you'd like to take a look ~

And can you believe they both have their original glass stoppers?!!

They're both empty ready to filled with something wonderful ~
maybe lavender buds, bath salts or even vintage buttons!!

Thank you always for stopping by to see me!!!

Wishing you a beautiful June Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Butter soft canvas, old wedding lace and lavender ~

Well, with all the wonderful canvas (which has been laundered and is oh-so-soft now)
I ran across last month at Scott Antique Market,
and all my gorgeous old lace half-way organized...
I made a few more creamy lavender sachets.

Each one is just a little different from the others but all are 5" x 7" not counting
the lace on each end and are totally filled with fragrant lavender buds!

These little goodies have just been added to my Etsy shop!

I so hope you've been having a great week...mine's getting better and better ~

Thank you so much for your get well wishes...I appreciate them so much ~
I just have to tell you, diverticulitis is not fun.
Just when you think, "I'm doing good" it can sneak right up on you!!

Wishing you a beautiful Thursday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
