So much to share!!!

First, take a peek at what's inspiring me now!
I've gotten so picky about the mags I buy now...so I thought I'd share
the few that I've HAD to buy lately!

So much inspiration is packed inside these issues....

Inside Prims...
I'm obsessed with doll making lately ~
we'll see if I can get one made :)
But just take a look at a few of the beautiful pages of the latest issue of Prims:

Lance Perry's wonderful bee on the left....he's Ann Perry's son of The Tin Rabbit!
Ann doesn't post much but take a look at her Flickr
and you'll see where her son's amazing talent came from!!

More wonderfulness...

Becky's gorgeous doll Lilly....from A Wing and a Prayer ~
She SO inspires me!

Inside the current issue of Romantic Country....
look at all of the gorgeous homes featured ~

After I looked at this particular home, I recognized it!!!
It's Rebecca Ersfeld's home!
Just gorgeous....

A few peeks at the January issue of Victoria magazine...this is a gorgeous one!

And lastly, my new issue of Country Living ~ which I haven't even looked at yet!
I just opened up these few pages to share with you and KNEW
you would love it!!!

When I went shopping on my birthday, I always love to visit Joann Etc. and Barnes & Noble.
They are both really far from me and I just don't get to go very often....
Here a few books I found from both of the stores.
Now, I love fairies, and love the flower fairies but that's not why I bought this book.
I bought the purse book because I have an obsession with purse patterns!
This one is chock full of them and I love their simple style.

If I add a strap to this pattern, don't you think it would make a great flea bag???
It's a wonderful small size ~

And if you take a look at a few peeks inside the flower fairies book,
you'll see why I fell in love with it!!!
It's about embroidery and stumpwork.
Well, I'm not too sure what stumpwork is but I LOVE IT!
It's making embroidery 3D I think...
I just thought some of the techniques would be so neat
to incorporate into my artwork in some way ~

Just look at the fairy's dress....I love the manipulation of the fabric!!

And totally changing the subject....
I had these precious doll shoes I've collected in neat old tin, where I couldn't see them ~
so, we were given a snack gift for Christmas in this tall canister and after it was gone,
I cleaned it up, removed the labels and put my little doll shoes inside so I can SEE them!
Now, they can INSPIRE me!!!!

I had to show you these too...
my sweet little trees are getting packed away until next year ~
I had high hopes I'd get so many more finished!!!

And GUESS WHAT?
I was contacted by BH&G and they want to feature
my artwork in their next issue of Holiday Crafts!!!!

My dear sister-in-law has just opened her very own Etsy shop!!!!
She makes the most delicious candied pecans....
wouldn't these make the most wonderful favors for a shower or wedding?
Just bundle a little handful up in a tulle circle, tie with ribbon and place in a huge basket!

And just look at what my family has been up to in the soap making biz!!!
Precious birds from wonderful shea butter soap....
you KNOW I love them!!

Sorry about the MASSIVE post,
But I just had to share it all with you!!!

Have a wonderful Thursday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Thoughts and fairies ~

Life is too short to wake up with regrets
so love the people who treat you right.

Forget about the one's who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Why do I love fairies? I can't really tell you except that I guess I'm a little girl at heart and they seem so innocent and wonderful to me ~ the images of them are beautiful.......

I've been cleaning at home and working a bit in my studio to get it ready for some fresh photos!! I'm participating in Where Bloggers Create later in the week and want to have some sweet pics of my space to share with you ~

I hope you have an amazing Monday sweet friends!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Sweet gifts and a pumpkin harvest!

My dear friend Dorthe of Den Lille Lade in Denmark sent me a precious gift, just because . . . she knew I would love it and Dorthe, I so DO!!! How precious is this little Flower Fairies book??? Thank you so much sweet friend! Who would have ever thought that I would have such a thoughtful friend so many miles away? This land of blog makes the world a much smaller place ~

Another friend I met through my blog, Sharon, sent me a big box of lace, ribbons, jewelry and fabrics . . . Sharon, this is amazing!! Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness ~ There are so many wonderful supplies to create with!

Can you believe all of these treasures?? I just had to share the photos with you ~

I've been so excited about fall, cooler temperatures and the gorgeous deep blue sky, I had to created a little harvest of my own . . . I've been wanting to make some of these fabric pumpkins forever and finally did it!! One is made from muslin as I had already started it but the other three are made from . . . you guessed it! Canvas dropcloth. They look like I painted them but I just made a mixture of instant coffee, cinnamon and a little vanilla and painted it onto the fabric. Cooked them for about 3-4 minutes in the oven (scary, they could burn sooo fast!) and then finished putting them together. They kind of look pumpkin colored don't they?

I did paint the leaves green plus I stained them with the coffee solution as well. You know what else I did?? Used my brand new jigsaw to cut my stems from a tree branch that had fallen in my yard! I love power tools!

I still want to add some aged tags that say "Harvest Time" or "The Frost is on the Pumpkin" . . . I added a little clear glitter to the tops so they would have a little bit of a frosty look ~ I'm going to put these in my Etsy store . . .

Also, look what I found on Ebay ~ The Water-Babies book! It was such a great price, 5 bucks or something but when I got it in the mail and opened it up . . . the only illustration in the whole book was the one that I've pictured! The seller didn't list an illustrator but I guess that was why ~ oh well, I guess I could always read the book!

I'm so excited about one more little thing that came in the mail Monday (it really was a great mail day!) . . . a little bitty tripod for my digital camera!!! I'm finally going to start on the nature journal tutorial now ~ it's so hard to hold the camera, press the button and have both hands to actually create too!! This should be a very helpful little thing ~

I hope that each of you are doing so good. If not, I pray that you will be soon ~ and thank you always for stopping by to see what I'm up to!

Happy Tuesday dear friends,

xxoo, Dawn
