Where has the time gone??

Lately I've been going back to some of my very first blog posts ~
I can't believe it's been four years already!!!!
Just a glimpse at a few of pieces of my artwork
along my blogging journey.....

Below is a re-post from April of 2007!!!
I'll be celebrating my FOUR YEAR BLOGIVERSARY February 11!!!!
I've been looking back at some of my very first posts and can't believe all that has happened in the last four years ~ and best of all?
I've been able to share it all with you!!!
And what an honor, too.
For you to take the time out of your day
to see what's happening in my simple life......

I truly am honored that you visit me!!!

Here's the blog post from April 6th, 2007:

My little addition to the potluck today is a very easy recipe that many of you may already know about but I cooked it for my family last night and not a teeny tiny speck was left!

Easy Chicken Pot Pie

  • 2 reg. sized cans of Veg-All
  • 2 reg. sized cans of Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1/2 tsp of Pepper (adjust to your taste)
  • 1 chicken cooked and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 box of refrigerated Pie Crusts

Mix the first four ingredients in a large bowl. Spray an 8 x 8 pan or casserole dish with cooking spray (I used a 9 x 13 in the photos) and lay out one of the pie crusts. Then place chicken mixture on top of this crust. Place the other crust on top, tucking in around all edges. Slice top to allow steam to escape. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until browned on top. Serve to your sweet family!

I've shared so many different things here on my blog...
even the ol' chicken pot pie recipe!!!
Have a great Monday dear friends ~
hugs and love,

Sometimes....my blog is simply a journal ~

You know, that's really what a blog is, right?
A web log....or blog....
a journal of your thoughts, interests and what you're up to!

My thoughts??
I so love my family and am very excited about our soap business!!!
As much as I love being home in the studio
I love also being creative for my family ~
Our orders have been pouring in and you KNOW I have
to help fill these orders and pitch in!!

My interests??
I love making things...my true interest is to always make beautiful things
that I love and that I think you may love too!!
The soap biz has channeled this desire in more ways than one ~
What gorgeous soap have I always wanted myself?
And what would be a unique and
beautiful way to package this soap??

So if I am MIA just a little bit in blogland just
know my days are kind of full right now ~

Wishing you a great Thursday my sweet friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn

So what's a girl to do?

When she's not made anything new to share....
or been anywhere interesting....
or found anything amazing to show????

She digs in her photo archives and shares a few oldies but goodies ~

I love, LOVE doll clothes.
Old doll clothes....the smaller the better....
the more primitive, even better!

So I had to make my own heirloom, "old" doll dress....
and age it appropriately :)

A few goodies I've scanned in the past for you!

So...you must know what I'm up to :)
We had such a successful Atlanta trade show that we are COVERED UP
with orders and are packaging them
as fast as our little fingers can!!!

OH, and Gina of Peacock Park Design has put up fresh photos
of her gorgeous showroom in Atlanta!!!

And we have another new blogger in our midst!!
Karen of Todolwen has just put up her very first post....
I'd love for you to stop by and welcome her when you can!!!!

I hope you are doing so wonderful sweet friends ~
Have a great Tuesday!!!
hugs and love,

Artful Pages - 4 artists 4 ways

There were once four different friends who loved book arts.
They each had different styles of doing their art, each one special and beautiful.
One did art journaling, another altered books,
a third loved gluebooks and the fourth created pages from fabric and paper.

They decided to share their styles with each other,
and with you, by creating a one-of-a-kind online class.
There's no other course like this one, combining 4 different ways to enjoy book arts,
to experiment with different styles and to learn brand new methods and disciplines.

I had to share with you a little excerpt from Mary's new class that she's just started,

I've always loved Mary of Green Paper's taste.....
Please take a peak at this great group of artists and
all they are wanting to share with you!!!!
New techniques and new ways of creating ~
you can't go wrong :)

Have a great week and a wonderful Monday!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Speaking of being creative.....

I had to start this post with my sweet Ellie!!
Why?
I don't know....but isn't she precious????

I picked up the new issue of Mary Janes Farm and just LOVE IT!!!
It has inspired me in so many ways ~

While I'm at work, helping to fill all of our new orders (xxoo) for The Feathered Nest soap,
I'm thinking of new designs...new product and my mind is all a buzz!!!
Is there something wonderful you'd like to see in the marketplace in our line of biz??
I would so love to hear your ideas ~
The egg soap has been what I've always wanted....
affordable and beautiful speckled egg soap!!

I hope you have a great weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Just what is a "creative" day?

If you've followed my blog for any length of time
you'd know that I absolutely love making things...
and not always the same thing either ~

I tend to think that sitting in the studio is
the only way to truly be creative but
I'm trying so hard to change that way of thinking.

We are creative in SO many different ways
throughout the day ~ aren't we?

Until I can get back into my studio
to make art,
just seeing my supplies
brings a smile to my face!!
Wonderful old trinkets, treasures and gathered goods
are simply beautiful art all on their own ~

OH, and why am I away from my desk???

The Atlanta Trade Show was a COMPLETE SUCCESS!!!!!!
We are all so excited and VERY BUSY!!!
Thank you Lord!

Have a beautiful Wednesday my sweet friends ~
hugs and love,
Dawn

Ready for Spring!!

I've always loved fall and winter...the gorgeous leaves,
the cooler temperatures and even the COLD temperatures!!!
Well, after the snow, ice and yuck last week here in Georgia ~
I am SO sick of it!
How in the world do you girls do it up north????

I never in the world thought I'd be wishin' for Spring but....
it seems that right now...
at this point in my life....
at 49 years of age I am TOTALLY
looking forward Spring!!!

I'm sure I'll love my new house even more....
with green grass!!!

Have an amazing Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Stepping into a dream...

I really did....

When I was at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart last week
(yes, I only went one afternoon)
I know, I'm lame.....
but there were many wonderful reps in our showroom
to sell our wares and I have to say,
our son Brent is a NATURAL
at selling so he went on through the weekend.
But I did go in Thursday and my one goal of the day
was to visit Peacock Park Design's showroom!!!

Gina's gorgeous studio was featured in Where Women Create
and I've been drooling over her website and blog for a while now ~
I've snagged a few photos from her blog
that I just have to share with you:

Can you believe this ribbon Gina designed??????

A glimpse inside the showroom ~
These are all photos from Gina's blog as it is a BIG no-no
to take photos at the mart....

Beautiful, old antiques have been replicated....
they just take my breath away!

Don't you just love her taste???

And guess what came in the mail this past weekend?????
Pam Carricker's new book

She was so kind to ask me to contribute a few pieces of artwork too!!
Here are a few glimpses inside :)

I wrote a little about blogging (surprise, surprise!)
and how much I love it ~
my heart artwork is featured on this page...

I'm sure you'll recognize a couple of my other pieces below as well ~

Pam did such an AMAZING job on this book...I think you are going to love it too!!
There are wonderful techniques shared and so much great advice on
how to fit creating art into your busy life.

I'm so honored to be included with all of the other artists inside...
thank you very much Pam!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday dear friends!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn
