Simply letting go ~

Having been in the antique business for almost fifteen years now
we have collected so many wonderful treasures!!

And because you know my mentality...
when we would go searching for treasures
I would always, ALWAYS keep some of them for our home!!!
I couldn't help myself ~
and when you love all things
old and wonderful, they call to you.

We filled this wonderful little farmhouse with our things
and are finally letting go of
some of those found treasures!
And it's OK too.
I want others to love and enjoy
what we have loved for years!

So we are listing more and more in our
We will lighten our load here and
maybe you will find
the perfect treasure for yourself!!!

Here are a few pics of what's new and
some haven't even been listed yet:

I can't help myself...these sweet items are so beautiful to me!!!
Maybe, just maybe, someone else thinks so too....

And don't forget to hop over to Tracie's blog to comment
to win one of my sweet lavender sachets!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday dear friends ~
I have even more goodness cookin' around here at the farmhouse,
so please stay tuned, OK?

love you much,
Dawn

I love making old things new again....

It gives me so much joy to take an item from the thrift or flea and
simply tweak it just a little and have it transform
into something that I'd be proud to own!!!!

I found this gorgeous butterfly specimen framed artwork a while ago ~
it was in a very shiny, silver frame that is SO not me....
but the butterflies?
YES...very me!

So....I found some flat black spray paint and knew it was the ticket.
Seems black always exudes importance, don't you think?

So I took it all apart, sprayed the frame and inset that kept the butterflies
away from the glass and painted them both.
I'm in love with the result!!!!
Now the question is ....where will I hang it?
Don't you worry one little bit,
you know I'll find a place!!

Remember my box find?
Yes, it had some sweet grapes painted on top
but not exactly what I have in mind ~

I applied a little gesso and some craft paint to make it disappear ~

Now I'm ready to transform this sweetie.....

The funny thing about moving is that I am STILL unpacking!
The studio was the most challenging space so
when I was packing, everything was tucked inside of something else!
A few things I've just uncovered:

A box of old watch pieces ~

What is it about the gorgeous graphics on old watches?
I just love them....

My precious little bitty bread tin ~
why do I love old, beat up stuff like this???

Inside?
More vanilla buttons....yes, I am an addict!

OH! and now I'm obsessed with scrim!!!!
Lisa sent me a sweet little bundle of it and
I think it is amazing....

I took a few photos of what she sent me ~
I haven't even used it yet but have ordered more
yeah...I know I need help :)
It has a tighter weave that gauze or cheese cloth
and this is the natural color....

Just look at the scrim used on each side of the bed....
I think this photo is from Country Living....
amazing!!!

Sometimes my posts are so crazy.
Absolutely ALL over the place....
but it seems to happen when my creative juices are flowing ~
you know?

You have GOT to stop by Karen's blog Todolwen.....
she's shared the most wonderful handmade feather tutorial!!!

Have an amazing Thursday my dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

For the love of clocks ~

Of of the many things I love and collect are clocks.
My husband loves them too, which is a good thing!

I was in The Plum Tree the other day and
saw this wonderful clock and just loved it ~
the graphics are so beautiful, the patina....and it's brand new!!
It is new but I don't care, the look is so what I love
and have in our home, it should fit right in ~

A gift bag with a little treasure inside that I put together
for a sweet someone who has the gift of generosity ~

My first attempt at embossing today! I can see places I missed but STILL... isn't it lovely???

Something else I seem to be enamored with lately are vintage pincushions.
Look at this gorgeous one I found on ebay....

And last but not least on this completely random post
is that I've finally started my bee assemblage.....starting is good.

Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn
