Sometimes I think my artwork is too simple....that there are not enough elements, layers or components. But then I also think simple is beautiful, understated and elegant.
I finished the twill tape bookmark ~ a few stamped images, beautiful vintage lace, and a careful rubbing of brown ink around the edges with the finishing touch of seam binding.
A little gift for a sweet friend ~

I changed the back to an aged text scrapbooking paper ~
the tone worked well with the twill tape.

Really great bookmark...you've done it again! I haven't forgotten about the ephmera that I have for you (I just can't find it!). I'll be cleaning up my room this weekend....
Have a safe holiday weekend!

Tres bien, Dawn! Cheers, Julie
I love it!! Are you adding any to your shop? I agree about simple. It's important to know when to stop, I struggle with that. I love the twill tape, I'm going to get some. Thanks for sharing.
Lisa
Love your bookmark Dawn!! It truly is beautiful!

Dawn, that is gorgeous...truly...i prefer simple things myself...sometimes too much really IS too much...and i think you can loose the message of what your piece is about if you start piling on all sorts of doo dads...you do simple beautifully...don't change a thing...
It's perfect!
Love the bookmark, Dawn! Sometimes simple is better; sometimes you can appreciate simple more without the distractions of too much stuff.
Beautiful bookmark, Dawn! Lucky friend you have!!
Blessings,
Myrna
Beautiful bookmark - I love small treasures like that. Thank you for the twilltape link - it is one of 'my favorite things' for sewing and housekeeping. I tie all my sheet sets together with twill tape.
My Grandmother and Mother always said, "Simplicity is Elegance." The bookmark is simply elegant. You have a wonderful artistic touch. Have a great weekend, my friend.

Simple is Beautiful Indeed! Love your bookmark & so will your friend. I love using seambinding. Has that silky feel I loved as a child. And... some kids never grow up.
