What a wonderful response to my last post!! You all know how to make someone feel so incredible, do you know that?? I am so STOKED about this phrase that I think it needs to be the title of my book, what do you think??

Dawn, What a great name. I love all the styles you mentioned too but thought maybe I was weird because I like so many different styles. "Gathered Style" would be a great title for a book. I would be one of the first to buy it. Hae a great day!

Perfect book title. It's new and fresh and certainly suits your unique style. I love the pics of your artwork, and am especially drawn the the bird collage and the nest in a jar. I have a real nest that I think will fit into a vintage honey jar that I have and some real quail eggs....hmmmmm. I, too, love birds and nests and eggs......Have an awesome day!

What a great idea for a book! I would certainly buy it... I would love to see beautiful pictures of your gathered style, how to's and tricks to achieving that style through finding and creating! Yes, to all of the above that you mentioned. Can I say excited!!! A great coffee table book that I would enjoy picking up time and time again...

Fantastic title, oh, how I hope you do write a book including all the subjects you mentioned plus one I never see: how to decorate around/hide all the electronics in homes today and the cords and phones and gadgets and the ugly gargantuan TV screens, with a section for those of us who are technologically challenged and would like to take photos with the new filmless cameras too! Thank you for your beautiful blog -- it's a daily stop for me. Edie in Harlingen, Texas where yesterday for the first time in over 60 days the temp was below 95 and we had a strange substance falling from the sky -- I think it's called RAIN!!!!
Definitely "all of the above!" Your art is so beautiful and makes me wish I had an ounce of creativity. I'm a "gatherer" too, and think that is the perfect description for the style I love. I think "all of the above" would make for a great book, Dawn. To be able to see the items to make in a room setting and then make them, with the instructions to do so - you don't see that too often.

That is a wonder catch phrase - gathered style. Everytime I use it I will give you full credit! I would love you to do a book demonstating how you gather to make your art and assemblages. A demo thing. I would also like to see more of the little corners of your home/studio and showing how gathering works there also.

Just want you to know I would buy your book no matter what the topic!! LOL I love the idea of Gathered Style! I love to collect and have been told that I am a pack rat, and have too much "junk" I don't care because it all makes me happy and that is the most important thing to me. Love your posts!

Gathered Style is the perfect way to describe my home. A mix of this and that - leaning toward Shabby Country, but not quite - some lighter painted pieces and some dark wood pieces - all of it has a story and means a great deal to us!
OK, book. now. I want. Yes. YES! please. hurry. need to buy. LOVE THE IDEA! yes, now go make the book so we can BUY it! (of course, I want mine autographed!)

I am envisioning it now, it will be dreamy, artful, and a timeless classic! I would love to see your home decor ideas featuring some your art projects with images, quotes, and how~to tips and techniques. I think these could be woven together very nicely. I am not sure about the blogging aspect of it but your heart will tell you what you need to include. Now, get writing! Oh, and can I reserve my copy now?

You never cease to amaze me with new words and thoughts, beautiful photos, etc. Gathered Styles is a FABULOUS name for anything. I don't have two of anything that matches. I am certainly not showroom quality but my own finds and loves too. I also love to stage items and change things around all the time as I have Too Many things!

The rest of us "gatherers" recognize a kindred spirit... that is why we return frequently to your blog! It is certainly one of my daily stops - and usually the first blog I visit each day. And what to put in a book? Why a gathering of ideas - tutorials, poems and everything - just the way you create & decorate!! I think the phrase "Gathering Style" is excellent - very reflective of what we all do! We "gather" things and generally make them into something they were not intended to be used for. Like all the ideas for the book! Get writing Dawn....

I think it sounds amazing...and love the idea of "gathered style"...I think that must be mine too as I have never found one certain "look/style" that defines me. Basically just the stuff I love gathered together! If it were a book...I know whatever you filled it with would be inspiring and full of beauty just like you! All of the above, especially the decorating, artwork, poem, quote stuff. A book would be great because I love to look at all of this over and over again. Gathered style about sums it up for me too. I like a variety of decorations and furnishings and just CANNOT be limited to one style, that would be way too boring!!

When I buy a book, it is for the images first. The text is always secondary for me, but since I have started blogging I find that it is the text that grabs me. Before when I was just a lurker I never read the text, now I want to know what makes this artist happy and gives her inspiration in her decorating and in her artwork, whether it be cooking, homekeeping, collage and paper art, photogrphy, gardening etc.
A book of yours would be a gift.

Dawn, I love the "gathered style" idea because it represents a personal expression, very individualistic. It is romantic, artistic and sentimental in a classic way. Another plus is that you always use items that are available to all of us. The notion of reusing and recycling is very appealing in today's world. So, count me in, I would buy a couple of copies as gifts. PS Plus your personality would just shine through the book. Do it.

Something that I would love, is that a bookmark be included with the book - and that it be a bit of your own artwork. Just an idea.

What an absolutely great idea, Dawn! It could definitely be a hit as either an e-book or a tabletop book. Your artwork evokes so many wonderful memories for so many of your fans - definitely for me. Your artful eye reflects your heart for all things vintage, as well. I'll definitely buy either copy!!! Would love to just have all your artwork in one place to view over and over!
