So, I had this idea....

to gather a few beautiful elements of nature....
I'm not quite sure exactly which items though.

I'll cover a canvas with pages from an old book...
and in the back, place a piece of glass inside the opening.
I will suspend the glass, creating a small type of shadow box....
and this shallow area could hold beautiful fragments of nature!

Stay tuned....we'll all see how it turns out!!

A few beautiful images....

One of my fav pics
When I purchased a large lot of doll shoes (singles)
and piled them on a silver tray....LOVE!

It seems this week I've been plagued by a yearly affliction.....
in Georgia you can find the stuff EVERYWHERE!
Privet hedge is blooming and it always, always makes me so sick!!!
You can read about it here....

I hope you're doing so good....
Wishing you the most wonderful Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

The Grumpy Gardener is a riot. I rather liked that red-tipped stuff, but I won't get any. And I have looked at the yellow stuff first mentioned...saved from that, too. My kids have cypress and oh my. Yup. A nightmare.

I can't even imagine, and I was following along, what you're planning with the glass and natural elements. I hope that you'll feel well enough to show us soon. I'm very curious.

Hope that old privet hedge quits blooming stat.

Can't wait to see the new creation you're working on. Allergy season is here for sure. The trees, and most everything else, are blooming early in NY. Yikes, grab the tissues. Still, I'm happy it is Spring. Love that collection of sweet baby shoes, too cute. -Al

Sorry to hear your allergies are getting to you so badly. I've just started the allergy med... we're getting pollen coming in on the winds!!! I never had allergies till I was in my 50's and oh boy!!! The pollen from the evergreens all around us did me in!!! It would turn the porch floor yellow every spring for what seemed like weeks!! Moved away from there about 9 yrs ago.. haven't missed that! Interesting idea you've got there, despite feeling so badly.

wow, this looks fascinating. I am always gathering bits from the garden and then wondering what to do with them.

We had neighbours with a privet hedge some years ago. It is a horrible plant if you are allergic to it. It seems to bloom forever.

Hope you feel better soon.

I love that idea, Dawn. Turning a canvas and using the inside of the back! You are a clever girl. I am so sorry that you suffer with allergies. I have a daughter that has them and I feel so bad for her when things are blooming.

I love those old images...especially the Radways ad...the look in the little girl's eyes~xo Diana

This is an exiting project dear Dawn- I know it will be something very beautiful and special, coming from your hands. The elements you have selected are great for your new project.
I love your pile of doll shoes-must have been so exiting to find such a huge collection.
But your last photo, makes me feel so sorry for you, I know all about allergies, so I hope for you my friend, that you can sneak around to not meet too many of this awful thing.
Love and hugs, and wishes for a beautiful week-end my dear.
