Seems as though when we were in our twenties
and our boys were so very young,
just getting Christmas ACCOMPLISHED was an amazing feat.....
I worked full time and having so many small children
was quite a handful but exactly what I'd always,
ALWAYS dreamed of
as well as my precious husband.

We shopped for all of the goodies on their Santa's list
that were "hot" and of course
those things were usually the things that every other child wanted!!!
So we were at the toy stores before they opened,
trying to beat the crowds
and gather these items that they dreamed of....

And as the boys have grown older, the job has grown so much easier for us,
but we will never forget the days when we hunted,
scraped and found those treasures they had their heart set on.
I don't think they will ever realize how hard we worked
to make these sweet little wishes come true
until they have children of their own....
and they have Christmas wishes of their own....

Yes sweet Dawn-it was hard work, having both work, and a little child--and you had many--it must have been wonderfull, but also hard, I can imagine--but well- in those dayes, we were able to run-work-and do,in quit another tempo, than now :)
Now I don`t run--some dayes I crawl....
Love the photoes of "your two "small " ones.
Loving hugs, dearest friend-love,Dorthe
You let them grow to let them go....it is hard work and then they are grown up and gone and it is the sweet pictures and memories which remain.

sweet memories...
Christmas memories are just the best! Those little ones DO grow up WAY too fast! We were just talking about when my daughter was little, I worked all the time and couldn't get off at Christmas! It was always really hard, shopping with very little money! But I made it special with what I had:) Sweet Christmas memories! Have a blessed day dear Dawn, HUGS!
This brought back a few memories I've not thought of in a long time. Grandchildren tend to swing us back as well as forward...
Dawn,
I was just missing all the stockings hanging on my mantle as they used to. Filling the stockings was my favorite and my son and daughters favorite thing. I miss shopping for the unique or silly things I used to stuff stockings with. Time does move by so quickly, we should take heart and enjoy each and every stage. Thanks for the happy memories shared here. Have a wonderful day!
Christmas brings back great memories for me as well, but I have to be careful, I get a little sad cause I really miss having kids around! Especially my son, won't get to see him for Christmas this year, but I will be with him the middle of Jan. Looking forward to that! Hope you have a wonderful blessed Christmas!

I love your blog!

Such wonderful memories back then. Christmas is a time of memories, some good and some that hurt. The hurting comes from missing our parents that have already left us, but the good ones are all the new babes coming into our lives building new memories. God is sooooo good to us and Christmas is another one of those holidays to let us give thanks to Him for all He has given us. Merry Christmas Dawn to you and all your family!!!!
Hugs, Pat
Blessings to your beautiful family, Dawn,

Oh my, this post took me back to when my guys were little. It was hard work making the "magic" happen, but so much fun too! I am left with an abundance of happy memories of smiles and laughter!
Blessings!

sweet memories and photos..it all flies by too fast. You are right though.. i feel like the shopping is easier as they get older...hold on to the magic...
What a sweet post. I have one left that still believes in Santa. I know this is our last year. She's already told me she has doubts. It makes this year a little extra special. Enjoy that granddaughter of yours this year! p.s - I'm obsessed with paper clay now, thanks to you!
Dawn,
What a sweet post. Yes, I remember Noah being just a little lump, now he's a man. And Clara, My God. She looks like a kindergartener to me. Yes they do grow up big. Pretty soon (like next year) you'll be hitting the stores again for just the 'right' toy. Lisa
That little Clara has GROWN sooooooooooo much. I remember when you were awaiting her arrival. And I knit her that hat & sent the other goodies... WOW! And look at her now! What a sweet post you wrote & yes I remember those days how hard it was to make all the magice happen.
Thank you for stopping by & commenting on our new little Elf Elle. She is cute & her Daddy is smitten. Me... I think I'm the one getting potty trained! HUGS!
