Small steps ~

Since moving to our new/old little farmhouse the first of October
well, really the middle of September....
I've not made much progress in decorating our new home!

I've been weeding out our stuff,
and trying to figure out what goes, what stays ~
I think we still have too much but I'll keep weeding.....
a true hoarder's promise, RIGHT??!!!!

I still have NOTHING on the walls and if only you knew how much
I have to hang...you would LAUGH your head off!!!

But I walked through the dining room today and thought
it didn't look too terribly bad and
I took a couple of photos to share with you.

I love this old place.....
can you see how much stuff I have crammed in that shelf????
You gotta love a hoarder just a little bit :)

AFTER:

I hope to show you more of the farmhouse soon...
maybe even with something on the walls!!

Ellie likes the new digs pretty good herself!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday precious friends ~

hugs and love,
Dawn

Dawn, i can't believe i've finally read, where someone said it the way i have felt (your previous post) about owning ideas. you couldn't have said it better in my humble opinion. i won't even try to add to that...just wanted you to know how much i appreciate you expressing this opinion. i honestly used to think that sometimes about my own work and someone copying it..not so of late, coming to the realization of true sharing! xo

I think this is the table I would love to sit at, so warm and giving, like you Sweet Dawn.
Putting up pictures is a task and the moment will strike when its right. You do have a magical touch for decorating.

We've been here a year, and still so much in boxes, and hardly ANYTHING on the walls. I think there' so much blank space that I don't know where to start!

The house is coming along great. I remember the first time I saw Ellie. She was so very tiny.

It's beautiful! Love how you updated that paneling. It's a complete transformation.

Moving is a monumental task for most people, but for people like us who like to create and collect things its on a whole other level. With that in mind I'd say you've done a remarkable job making your place look like a home in a very short time.It looks so pretty and warm and welcoming.Just like the lady of the house!

I am so excited to see what you have done....I can tell you love this new old farm house. I have one to and I love it too. I love what you did to that room, you made it yours:) I do not have a dinning room, we have a old fashioned kitchen and I have a old Walton's still table and chairs. It is made of white Maple and I use it for everything. My kids grew up around it and can tell stories about some of the marks on it. We moved from a 4 bedroom 2 bath and a din, about 3000 squar feet to about 1400, so I had so much stuff to find a home for. I have three kids, so alot of it found it's way to their house.
Project....I got two very old wing back chairs that I am giving a little love until they are re-ulpostered (can't spell). I should take a picture of them.
I really enjoy seeing your new house become a part of you...your talents are so many, it's all good! Love you Dear Dawn, Mary

Dawn...I love it! I to am a "Crammin Queen" but when a gal has ALL this cherished stuff what is the alternative? I can hardly wait for your walls to talk and share your expressive visions! Looking good girl!

The sideboard is a wonderful piece that you have staged well. I am totally intrigued by a bookshelf in this area...............what a wonderful idea! You can sit at your table and enjoy reading books about subjects that ignite your passion(s)!. I think this is ingenious! Lovely post.

you have made your home very home and comfortable still without your walls full like mine and I still have photos I have never hung, but I love to see them now and then. What do I do about that?

I guess I need to find room somewhere and So much Christmas is available I am not using.

Memories are hard to part with when you have a choice.

But I really need to clear out the garage also!
