Here's a sweet bird image that I've given to you before ~
but just in case you didn't grab him then....here he is again!

I've been really busy!!! The color on the back wall of our antique space
at Antique Griffin was a very bright blue and SO not me.
(like it's MY space but I have kind of taken over, sorry honey :)
I bought a really pretty cream color and was able to get it painted finally.
Here are a few before and after shots....it took THREE coats!!
I know I should have primed it first but
I just didn't want to buy more paint and rollers....

And here's the after, much better!!
The shelves come with the space
(it's really just a corner space...)
but the red background had to go too.
Rather than have to paint all of it,
I'm putting burlap covers
over the backs of each opening!!
I love it ~ and think it gives a nice contrast to the cream!

You can see below how tiny it really is!
Now to get busy covering the rest
of the shelf backs and loading stuff in ~

And one of the hazards of painting was
"having" to shop while each coat dried!!!
Look at the beautiful figures I found ~
You may not see the beauty but I just LOVE them!!!
The photos aren't the best I've ever taken either ~
They just had to come home with me,
I'm a freak for statues and figural things.

Oh dear - that blue couldn't even pass as robin's egg blue. That was some kind of blue and so NOT you! It's looking great, can't wait to see the shelves "fixed" Dawn style and the booth stocked! As for the corner booth....I have expanded to include a corner booth (thank you so much Rowann, you're the best) and oh my gosh Dawn, you are going to LOVE having the corner! Go Dawn Go!

The change is wonderful! Love the burlap idea. I cannot wait to see how it all comes together!
What a difference a coat of paint (or three) makes! And love the burlap in the back of the shelves. I love the way you made it "your own" and hubby does too, I'll bet!
Kate
I am so excited for you! It's going to be just beautiful, and certainly the best looking booth in the mall!
Big hugs,
Anne
Can't wait to see it loaded. The colors are great. Having a booth is sooooo much fun, but sure is a lot of hard work, but worth it and it gets into your blood.LOL
Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Dear Dawn, Lovely cream and tans. I'd love to see it with your things in it. I really related when you said your blog was your escape. I feel the same way. I really look forward to reading everyone's lovely posts-yours always make me happy. Thank you for that! Hugs from Sherry

Dawn, your space is looking great...i can't wait to see it all filled up with lovely goodies!!!
Oh much better in cream. I would have done the same. Thanks for sharing all your giveaway leads.
Blessings,
Jessica
Dawn,
I'll bet when you are through that your hubby will be glad you took over and beautified the space as only you can do. He will be equally happy that your sense of style will draw buyers into the booth! It is looking great.
I can definitely see you in the booth now, not so much before. Can't wait to see the transitional photos!
Leann
Your space looks so much better...You might want to put something lacey along the top to block off the blue behind you. I have done my fare share of craft fairs and know what its like to want it to look just so! The two aged figurines look as if they have a dusting of snow on them...sweet. By the way I love the name of your shop...my dog's name is Griffin!
It is scary but I know exactly which space it is in just from the photos. Can't wait to see your goodies in it. We repainted at High Cotton too and it was a bright blue- what is up with that? Hoping to get set up tomorrow.
Much better in cream, and the burlap looks great. I love the figures also, I collect them myself, and have way to many. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day.
Daphne
Can't wait to see your cozy space. It will be awesome !!! Love Tiina...
Oh yes! It's looking great already and by the time you're finished...can't wait. Oh and the hazards of being near treasures so often...that's why I've never worked in an ice cream shop. Ha! Have great fun with it and thank you for the pretty image.
Booth looks sooo much better!
Love your statues!
have super day

Dawn... can't wait to see your booth all decked out... Candy, Terry, Lili and I always have a hard time when working in our booths... we have to take a shopping time-out every time... LOL... that's why we never make any money... but oh the joy of it!
We arteests just can't sit still, can we, there's always an idea rolling around in there somewhere and we simply must run head long into it...but ohhhh, the results!!!
Have a wonderful weekend Dawn...
from frozen Iowa...

Your space looks great. A much nicer color now and I love how you are covering the shelve backs with burlap. Have a great day! ~Cassie
I love the new color you painted your space-more suiting to you and the burlap is such a great idea.
Dawn thank you so much for the sweet condolences that you sent my way- they were very much appreciated.

Looking good.....You gave it your own personal touch! Can't wait to see the shelves full!!
Dawn,
You are working so hard and it will all pay off. Your sense of style and knowing what looks good comes out in all of your work!! Can't wait to see what it will look like when completed!!
Hugs Susan in Georgia
I can already tell it is going to be wonderful....only a person with vision can get past the blue you saw to realize what it can become....which I'm sure is going to be FAB....xojana
I've just been scrolling through your blog thinking, isn't it nice how Dawn always has such great bird images- but I guess it makes sense, after all this IS The Feathered Nest.
(I'm excited to see your antique booth in action)
LOVE the "Sorry Sweetie"!
The white wall and the burlap on the back of the shelves are fantastic...the burlap's texture has a earthy feeling to it and accentuates the gossimer quality of your artwork and treasures!
the cream wall and burlap shelves will be beautiful.
love your treasures, too!
The space looks so much brighter with the new coats of paint. How wonderful that you had to take shopping breaks while it dried! Those statues are so sweet. Love the profile on the little girl! As always, thank you for sharing!
Blessings,
Nita Jo
What a little paint won't do! The idea to put burlap on the back of the shelves looks great... and the little concrete statues are so sweet, aged to perfection! Theresa
Hey Dawn,
I can't wait to see pics of the booth all decked out, maybe we'll have to take a road trip to see it and meet up with you. Hope all is well!
love,
angela
