As soon as school starts, my thoughts always turn towards fall....
Do you have a time of year that brings back the most precious memories??
Fall is that time for me.
I love the crisp cool mornings...the gorgeous bright blue skies ~

When I was in fourth grade, we moved to a wonderful little neighborhood.
There were tons of other children....(one being my future husband)
Leaves were falling and I thought we had moved to the best place EVER!
And Halloween in our neighborhood was amazing!!
We all trick or treated together
and knew each other's families.....
there were no worries at all ~ just good, clean fun!
When this time of year rolls around, my mind always returns
to this precious time in my life....
no worries, no scary stuff,
just pure fun that all children love!!!
Happy Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,

Sweet images of fall...I know that you have put in a long hot summer. I'm not quite ready yet, but this morning is so cool that I may have to bake to take off the chill.
Me too, Dawn. We lived in a wonderful neighborhood with big old oak trees and acorns everywhere - lots of great kids and Halloween was fabulous!

Life was simpler back then! Not scared to walk to the store or play in the yard:) Hope you are enjoying your Friday morning! Fall is just around the corner! HUGS!
I think we are all looking forward to Fall this year, Dawn! I actually used to dread September when my kids were school age. I felt like the only parent who didn't want them to go back! We would spend a lot of time together and I knew I would miss them terribly and that they were growing up. Since they are grown now, I've come to love Fall again for the season itself. The changing leaves, the decorating, a fire in the fireplace, snuggling under a throw. Can you tell I'm looking forward to it? : )
I'm right there with you! This has not been the best summer for me. I am so looking forward to cooler temps. I lived in a rural area growing up and we would all climb in the back of Daddy's pickup and he would take us house to house trick or treating! What fun memories.
Blessings
Linda
I love everything about fall. The colors, the smell...everything. It's the one season here in Texas that lasts the longest...although summer seems like it's forever!

I'm with you Dawn!! This has been a very lo9ng hot summer!! Let's get on with the cool nights and mornings of fall!!
Lovely post, Dawn! Fall is my favorite time of year...and even though my children are grown, I begin to nest at this time of year, thinking of school clothes and yellow buses!
Dear Dawn, I enjoy all the seasons, but autumn is nesting time for me...baking, apple picking, pumpkin hunting, decorating with gourds and leaves...layered clothing, quilts on the beds and fires in the fireplace. I could smell the change in the air the past few days... My favorite memory of fall, the smell of burning leaves. Thanks for stirring up some memories. Love, Penny
These are my memories too! We just returned from WA State visiting with our Girls and their families and those wonderful memories are theirs too. Needless to say I looked all day today for Fall Craft Projects to keep me busy in this Fla heat!

Lovely photos. I like anytime of year that's not hot or even close to it. Loving our winter here atm.
Such divine Autumn images Dawn!
I can see why you have been looking forward to this most soothing season after a long hot and dry Summer where you live as Spring is about to dawn here where I live.
Happiness is being alive!
Have a wonderful weekend dear friend!

Dawn,
What a beautiful post and we share quite similar memories of our childhoods!!
Living in the Pocono mountains of Pa., where many come for the Fall Foliage, it was a heavenly time of year for me. And Halloween in our development was delightful as there were many children whose parent's built new homes there as mine did!
I am so looking forward to Fall!!
Hugs,
Debbie
I love fall a real fall, I so often would go home in late Sept. Because I wanted color..the color of Aspen and Birch changing to golden tones and sumac in deep reds...even the poison ivy would change colors..and the few maples people had planted...Their was a spot...not many people would see unless they got off the highways..and out of their car,,,a wonderful angle on a mountain side...all aspen all in yellows and gold and heavenly quite...if you have never been the Black Hills of So.Dak. are magical in late fall....me going home early fall for my sis's Bday.....yippee thanks for a little memory Hop
Dawn-- Fall really is just right around the corner and I'm so not ready--- as much as I love a crisp fall day-- I'm just not quite ready to give up summer just yet!!
But since I don't get to vote--- I'm going to start getting my sweaters ready--

Call me crazy but I was so excited to see the ragweed beginning to bloom here, that means fall is on its way! It has been so hot and miserable this summer that for the first time ever I will be glad to see it go. Lovely autumn pics.
Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons. I got new shoes and dresses...new underware and socks, it was almost as good as Christmas.
I love the air in fall, even one a warm day there is a coolness. Dear Dawn, Fall will find me in my new Loft this year...That will be sweet. And you will have the best of all a new grandson to love..... Love, Mary
