French General fabric and lavender...

Boy, I guess that paint job took it out of me more than I realized!!!
I keep forgetting I'm fifty and after I do something like that,
I suffer for a few days afterwards!!

A sweet baby for you, she's a sweet repeat ~ but yet still so SWEET!

My meager accomplishments in the last few days?
These little lavender sachets!
Lisa had gifted me some French General fabric a while back
and I've been meaning to make something from it.

I love making the little sacque sachets...they stand up so pretty!
Plus another neat thing about these is that I didn't sew the top closed.
The are simply cinched with some ribbon and a pretty rhinestone pin.

So in a few years, if the fragrance needs to be replaced you simply
add fresh lavender buds!!

OH, and I've decided to part with these wonderful old things...
antique scissors.
BIG old scissors!
Rusty and crusty,
not good for cutting
but perfect to hang on your wall!

I've added all these goodies to my Etsy shop if you'd like to take a little peek!!

I hope you are doing so good.
We've been having cooler temps lately and I love it so much!!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I've been up to ~
your comments are so precious to me.

Wishing you a BEAUTIFUL Friday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Adorable little bags. Have some I just finished off in whites, maybe posting by Sunday. Our no humidity and cool breeze has been awesome.

Glad that you're back in the studio after the painting bit...oh I hate painting, but always love the result...your Etsy store looks fabulous...so many choices.

I love that fabric, Dawn! Can I ask where you get your lavendar? I ordered some from a buyer on Etsy and have had the most horrible transaction with this seller. I've got sachets all sewed up and ready to be filled. I know what you mean about feeling the pain ~ I feel that way not only after painting but when I used to weed. I'd be feeling it for days afterwards!

Hello sweet angel friend,
so lovely they are all lined up,in their strong red and white- and smelling so sweet. Such beautiful fabric from dear Lisa, and the bling pin gives just the right last detail of beauty.
The old scissore are wonderful to hang Dawn.
I too feel older today, with a even tiny cold, I feel tired and without any energy!!
Hope your weekend will be wonderful my dearest Dawn.
Hugs and love, Dorthe

Oh, oh, oh! I love the sachets! The striped patterns you chose from your French General care package remind me of vintage ticking, which I've recently fallen in love with.: )

Hi Dawn, I remember the days of painting a whole room, rearranging the furniture and hanging curtains all in one day...that ship has sailed. ;-) As you rejuvenate you also recharge your creative spirit, so take it easy... The sachets are a departure from your usual soft palette , but lovely. Have a great weekend my friend. Love, Penny

Love your site and love the little bags!! amazing what you do. Do you sell the rhinestone buttons or could you tell me where to get them. I can't find anything like those where I live and I need some for flower centers. I always enjoy your blog. thank you Judy

Hi,Dawn! French General fabrics are the best, aren't they? I could just stay inside her shop all day long just inhaling all that fabulousness! Great idea on not sewing the top closed! With the tie and vintage rhinestone jewelry closure, you have made this have a much longer life!!
