I know I've shared this with you before....
but I'm in love with books!!!
Not so much novels, but books that share romantic, decorating ideas...
artful decorating ideas, creative art books that demonstrate techniques or
just have gorgeous photos featuring beautiful artwork ~
I gathered just a few photos to show you what I mean :)
This first image is for you, one of my favorites!
This photo below is not from a book or magazine,
but a close up of the antique Limoges china
that Dennis gave me for Christmas a few years back.
Oh how I miss the old Home Companion magazine...thank goodness I saved so many!
How in the world could I NOT be inspired by the beauty shown
between the pages of my favorite books and magazines?
I'm joining Debra of Common Ground and so many other
inspiring blogs for Inspiration Friday!!
Wishing you a great Friday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Lots to be inspired by... I see that you've been collecting some great magazines through the years. So have I and something must be done!
I also love looking at these same magazines and all the pretty and romantic pictures. I absolutely LOVE! the Limoges china!
Dawn, I am just the same. I have waaaaayyyy too many books, and a dozen sketchbooks with hundreds of decorating and craft magazine clippings. I am not sure when it went from passion to obsession, but I'm happy regardless! I "read" every night, looking over the pages of beautiful things, always inspired by all the beautiful eye candy.

Hi Dawn, I have all these books too and love looking through them time and time again. I mentioned a new vendor on my other blog (http://discardedforlorn.blogspot.com/) that I thought you might like to check out. She so reminds me of Carol Hicks Bolton's look that we so loved seeing in Victoria Magazine and the other mags. Happy Friday my friend.
true eye candy....love it all!

I miss Home Companion magazine too!
So much eye candy.
Have a wonderful weekend Dawn ♥
I am right there with you - love to "read" all the pretty pictures. We joke at our house that I read all the pictures first and then go back and read the words - LOL! I, too, miss Home Companion. I loved the way the magazine was formatted with advertising on one side and article on the other, page after page. I thought that was unique and inspired and really don't understand how it became unprofitable when there are many other more expensive magazines that stay afloat. Which I suppose is why I am not in the magazine publishing industry!
Dawn the china is beautiful! What a sweet gift. I do the same thing with books and mags. I read my Somersets over and over. My husband is like, "how many times can you look at that same one?" I see something different each time.
It's funny how magazines effect us. I remember seeing the RH mag cover you have of the woven French Market Basket with the wheels, and I couldn't stand it until I found one. AND I did! I'm still a mag lover but now the ones I really love are many fewer. I really miss the ones that are gone! Thanks for always sharing a great post, Dawn!

Dawn,
As much as I love the e-zines and blog-hopping for inspiration, I hope and pray books never become a relic of the past. Technology can only provide so much, but it can never replace sitting down with a good design book/magazine and a cup of coffee!
Goodness...how I miss MEHC!
Debbie
I too keep my magazines forever. I am going to have to build a room on my house at some point to keep them in. Or be on an episode of Hoarders. But I do go through them whenever I get a chance and find new things to inspire me, so I can't even begin to think of getting rid of them!
I too am a lover of books and mags! I really do miss the Home Companion...I think I have nearly every one, from the very first, and look
at them all the time as they are great for inspiration. Also, love Victoria and Country Living. I have waaay too many books to mention which are favorites.
Smiles and Blessings,
Nancy
I find lots of inspiration in books and magazines such as these.... and in blogs such as yours!
Thanks for sharing!

love all the inspriration!!!! I have those Victoria magazines, eventhough Mr. Romantic has threatened to throw them out, lest you judge him too harshly, he has lugged them around through several moves. lol It is so nice to know there are people who love and are inspired by the same things we are!
Blessings, Gerri
Everything is just beautiful! So many colorful photos and interesting ideas.
Your blog is like a dream - a dream of remaking, redoing things in my home using my artistic side rather than the practical - which seems to be an unending pursuit to sanity ;)
I absolutely adore the vintage picture of the women, do you know the name of the artist or where I might find more like it?
Hugs and happiness,
xxx
