It's here!!!! Where Bloggers Create day!!

I'm so very glad that Karen of My Desert Cottage decided to do this!!
It really motivated me to organize and get a few things accomplished
that I've had in my head for awhile....

Just a little background if you've not been to my blog before, this room was formerly the garage of our house! One of our older sons lived with us for awhile and converted it into a room! It still has the garage door if it should need to be transformed back ~ which I'm hoping isn't in the near future because I've worked so hard turning it into my creative space!!

This wall is on your right as you step down into the studio ~

This is still on your right, my little sewing area ~

Don't you think this is a good place for the ironing board?
Right in front of the air conditioner!

An inspiration board filled with wonderful old things ~

My desk where I create!

One of the projects I was working on ~
a framed, cloth-covered board with beautiful ephemera pinned on....

I just couldn't cut this matelasse curtain panel so I draped it on the chair very carefully and placed a few little stitches here and there to form a slipcover for my office chair. The stitches are concealed by beautiful vintage buttons.

My comfy chair ~

The table in the center of the room is perfect for working on projects where I need a little more space ~

Just a little bit of fabric ~

And here we are back at the door going into the house!

I love being in this room ~ it truly soothes my soul. I'm surrounded by things I love and beautiful artwork so generously given to me by my precious friends.

I hope that you enjoyed the tour....
don't you want to come over and make something together?! :)

Please be sure to check Karen's blog, My Desert Cottage,
for a list of all the bloggers that are participating ~

Thank you always for stopping by to see me sweet friends,
wishing you a wonderful Friday ~

xxoo, Dawn

Hi Dawn!
Although your creative space is familiar as I've been watching during the transformation, I am still in awe with the beauty you created. Not only in your wonderful little pieces of art, but also something on a large scale as big a garage! You have so much talent and you are such an inspiration!
This is one of those rooms I'm going to have to go back and click each picture and admire each and every detail...
Thank you for sharing and always giving of yourself, you are amazing girl!!!!

Even though you've shared the "in progress" steps of your studio, it is breathtaking to see it completed. You have created a beautifully serene space in which to work/play and all of your readers feel transported to another place when they visit here. The only thing that would make it more perfect is to bring your music back....I miss it.
Off to visit the other studios.

First of all I love how you showed us your ironing board and yes it is in the perfect spot :)
This is one amazing studio, and I can feel all the love and creativity that has gone into it, I don't know what to say, it is just awesome.... you would never know it was a converted garage either. So far all the studio's I have seen should be in a book or a magazine, just so inspiring :)
Thanks for the tour.

Oh Dawn! I didn't realise this event was going on, until another blogging friend just told me about the event - as I was perusing Desert Cottage, and wishing it were mine, I suddenly thought of you! and guessed you'd be participating - and if you hadn't come across DC, I was going to send you straight over there (silly me, of course you would know DC!)
Now, I love your studio space too, and now I wished I had one too! My English home was a 'shabby chic' retreat, which I dearly miss, I'm currently living on a building site! but if I need some Shabby Chic interventon - I have a thousand blogs to visit!!

Karen said...

OH MY! Don't EVER let it go back to being a garage! It is just divine! I've spent WAAAAYYYYY too much time here - enlarged each photo and just drooled!
I would love to just have a glass of wine, an afternoon with nothing to do but indulge myself in exploring your wonderful space.
sigh!
Thank you for sharing. Just beautiful!
