An amazing artist....

William-Adolphe Bouguereau (November 30, 1825 – August 19, 1905) was a French academic painter. Bouguereau was a staunch traditionalist whose realistic genre paintings and mythological themes were modern interpretations of Classical subjects with a heavy emphasis on the female human body.

Don't you find his work just wonderful??

I've blogged about Bouguereau before
but had to share his wonderful work again ~

I've been working so hard in my studio....cleaning, organizing and changing a few things ~ Friday is the "Where Blogger's Create" day so I have to be ready!!

Thank you all so much for the feedback about my blog loading.....
I just want it to be simple to visit :)

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday sweet friends!
xxoo, Dawn

I love the paintings you have featured they look as if they are about to step off the page.

At the moment I am very grateful that you have taken the playlist off your blog, it was 'locking' up my computer every time that I came to visit and I really didn't want to miss my daily fix of your beautiful things.

Breathtakingly beautiful. Like living photographs. I noticed you listed John William Waterhouse under "You might also like" notation. Waterhouse is one of my favorite artist/illustrators and you probably recognize his mermaid in the upper right hand corner of my blog background. Sea Witch

I never knew such art works existed until I started blogging. I'm still not that educated as to who painted what, but I enjoy them just the same!

Dawn,
His paintings are amazing! They look more like photographs don't they? Amazing detail. I too am hard at work to get my studio space ready to photograph. I am finishing up on a major new addition today and then on the pretty stuff and a little fluff. I can't wait to see your changes. I am off to see what I have missed here.

Dawn,
First, these paintings are magnificent. Don't you wonder how long it took him to paint one of these masterpieces? This artist is new to me.

Second..I had an "ah-ha" moment. There are blogs I quit going to because they made my screen freeze as well. However, your blog did not freeze my screen. It was always a mystery to me why this happened.

One mystery in life solved, nine million more to go! smile.

He is my favorite--I have a few prints of his work framed in my house--just love the detail. I think one of the loveliest paintings he did is called "Song of the Angels"
