Just a little background if you've not been to my blog before, this room was formerly the garage of our house! One of our older sons lived with us for awhile and converted it into a room! It still has the garage door if it should need to be transformed back ~ which I'm hoping isn't in the near future because I've worked so hard turning it into my creative space!!

One of the projects I was working on ~
a framed, cloth-covered board with beautiful ephemera pinned on....

I just couldn't cut this matelasse curtain panel so I draped it on the chair very carefully and placed a few little stitches here and there to form a slipcover for my office chair. The stitches are concealed by beautiful vintage buttons.

The table in the center of the room is perfect for working on projects where I need a little more space ~

And here we are back at the door going into the house!
I love being in this room ~ it truly soothes my soul. I'm surrounded by things I love and beautiful artwork so generously given to me by my precious friends.

Even though you've shared the "in progress" steps of your studio, it is breathtaking to see it completed. You have created a beautifully serene space in which to work/play and all of your readers feel transported to another place when they visit here. I don't have any built in shelves for my stuff and now I can look at yours and know exactly what I can accomplish without them. I can clean my space up & 5 minutes later the messy look is back.Lol oh well. You are truly inspirational.

My goodness! You have been pulling that room together in the most amazing ways. I recognize so much, but you've done a lot more since last I had a glimpse. The baby dresses hanging on that spiral rack are darling and your "little" stash of fabric is making me jealous. I can certainly see why being in that room nourishes your soul.
At last, we get to see your space. Well, it was worth the wait. I still remember seeing it at the beginning when it was a blank slate. I think you should submit it for publication with Stampington's Where Women Create.

Oh Dawn! I didn't realise this event was going on, until another blogging friend just told me about the event - as I was perusing Desert Cottage, and wishing it were mine, I suddenly thought of you! and guessed you'd be participating - and if you hadn't come across DC, I was going to send you straight over there (silly me, of course you would know DC!)
Now, I love your studio space too, and now I wished I had one too! My English home was a 'shabby chic' retreat, which I dearly miss, I'm currently living on a building site! but if I need some Shabby Chic interventon - I have a thousand blogs to visit!!
OH MY! Don't EVER let it go back to being a garage! It is just divine! I've spent WAAAAYYYYY too much time here - enlarged each photo and just drooled!

I am in LOVE with this room! You can never, ever park your car in here again! Park it outside and get a car cover. No one can have this room again. It is a wonder and I LOVE it!!!!!

Do I even need to say how envious I am of your Wonderful stupendous creative space? No? It is so beautiful Dawn. I am seeing not only some of the neatest spaces but the most spectacular collections (excuse me, I have to wipe the drool from my chin).
