Such simple things can be so special ~

Do you feel that way? I find that the most simple, commonplace items make me smile now. And group several of these gathered treasures together?? Pure sweetness!!

They can be old, ragged, worn or stained...it doesn't matter one little bit. As a matter of fact, that makes me love them all the more!

After finishing up my tiny glass cabinet, I filled it with some of these things. Items that when I glance at them in the studio, they make me smile ~ scuffed baby shoes, old spools of thread, tiny little cardboard boxes and even stained china.

In your creative space, whether it be a small desk in a guest bedroom or the breakfast table in your kitchen, surround yourself with a few gathered treasures that make you happy!

I'm so thankful for each of you wonderful friends.

I look forward to sharing some little something with you every day and appreciate you taking the time to stop by and see me ~

Wishing you a very happy Friday ~
hugs and love, Dawn

Girl you have got me in a whole mess of trouble. After seeing your wonderful craft room I sold the pool table and set up my craft space.
But what else is a girl to do when the kids leave home lol
I posted about it on www.laceandlures.blogspot.com
My pictures didn't turn out too good but I am going to love creating this room.

Dawn, I so love your little sterilization cabinet. I've seen some around but none as perfect as the one you got your hands. And you set it up so lovely. What a great place to hold a few of your favorite things.

Isn't it amazing how we feel such comfort in having things like this around us?Things that to most people, would pass over, just because they aren't "new". But with the eyes of an artist we see a story,a painting,a time gone by, that we in a much personal way are trying to recapture. And we hold tightly to that beauty. And with our hands and ART breathe Life back into it!!I love all the sweet things you have put in your little cabinet~~~it sure tells a story!!!Beautiful ~~as always sweet Dawn!!!~~~~~Blessings My Friend, Deborah

Hi Dawn. wanted to stop by and say hi and let you know things are getting better with my son.... You certainly know what feelings we have when a family member is hurt. No matter how old they are still our kids... Love your little cabinet. Hopefully I can get my brain working toward blogging again. Have a peaceful weekend.

I was showing my granddaughter some of your work in one of the Somerset publications today as we sat at a Borders store - we 'oohed and aahed' and she told me how she loves fairies and birds too, and how pretty your work is.

Your little cabinet made me smile too Dawn - you are the best when it comes to gentle and delicate beauty. Thank you.

We do both share the same love of collecting and I know what you mean by just seeing it and having a sweet thought, just to have it around for visual reminders!

I have grown over the last 9 years to love the cast aways, the imperfects' the pre-loved items too.

Thanks for putting in words what I adore so much in my home and life.

Smiles, Cyndi

Oh I completely love all of your simple, pretty vignettes. They are stunning...each item is a treasure. I am the same way...the other day I was using an old ball of thread to sew some buttons, and realized the label was tucked inside...I pulled it out and on one side was stamped "Ecru" with a number...it made me so happy...so simple...but so beautiful!

What a darling cabinet and beautiful contents. I tend to surround my work area with items to work on--not things to admire just for themselves! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
