Gluttony, you horde, you gorge on material things. How big does your nest have to be, how big are you?Pride in what you "have", envy of all others. Too bad.
Truthfully, I hardly ever receive them....I try to treat others as I would love to be treated. You know, "the golden rule"?? AND if I do receive them, I just delete them and thankfully Blogger now has fixed it so you don't even know it. POOF! they vanish, no evidence whatsoever!
But after receiving this particular comment (3X over thank-you-very-much) on the "These are a few of my favorite things" post, I just chose to not ignore this one.
As an artist I collect many different things to contribute to my artwork. So when I am creating I have at my disposal all the things needed to make it look just the way I want it too. If that makes me a glutton, so be it.....Our God in Heaven knows my heart, knows that I am an artist (He made me this way) and provides me with the means to help my family monetarily PLUS fund my artwork. I truly am blessed. I'm blessed with friends (like you) and family to support my creativity and the funds to buy supplies. What else do I need?
I'm sorry that this person is so insecure as to attack me in a public way. I pray for blessings for this soul that they would have something wonderful happen to them to change their spirit and thought process. I by all means am not perfect but do try my best to treat others as I would like to be treated.
Thank you all for always supporting me, my artwork and creativity....and as for my new anonymous commenter, I will be praying for many blessings for you.....
xxoo, Dawn

Love ya girl,

Hi Dawn,
The Lord blessed you with a lovely gift of creativity and hospitality ~ and I think He's pleased that you're using it!
Seeing "a few of your favorite things" brought a bit of joy to my heart and also inspired me to share some of my "stuff" on my blog someday.
You truly are blessed and you truly are a blessing!
I love to visit you Dawn!
Dawn, i had to pop out of my hiatus to address this bit of nastiness...how sad for this person to dump her own obvious unhappiness onto you...you are one of the sweetest, most generous girls i know in blogland!!! i am glad you haven't taken this to heart... you are truly a wonderful person and you ARE blessed and we are blessed to that we are able to take a peek into your world as you share your life and art with us!!!
It is beyond me how anyone could be so unkind.
Sad.
Very, very sad.
Love your pretties...and your creativity!
The rest of us get it.
xox
i cant believe that someone could be so rude.
all your goodies /favorite things are wonderful and simple. they are things that mean little in money and alot in love.
please keep posting and dont let those kind of people ever get you down. :)
i love to read your blog.

i love to read your blog.
Dawn,
How sad for that person....yes we like to horde things for our art, but for most of us it's not about spending big bucks on them (in fact quite the opposite). I feel I'm helping the planet in my own small way by recycling someone else's castoffs. Those are the best finds for our work, no? Anything old or vintage that hopefully hasn't been thrown out yet. And I know you believe in this because I've read your blog long enough to feel I know you. We are kindred spirits, my friend, don't let the turkeys get you down! Your work is gorgeous...
Hugs,
Gail
What a shame! I am sorry someone would think that was right or promoted God's love. Too bad.
God has blessed you with a creative eye and great talent!
Dawn- You are so generous with sharing your time and talents with all of us. It's sad that someone has to take out their unhappiness by making a negative comment and I applaud your generosity in praying for blessings for them.
Oh Dawn...I am so sorry. You are the most giving person!! You share so much. Even the photos of your goodies are such a delight, we all enjoy them. You are given such wonderful things for you, to use to inspire all of us. Disregard such comments and don't ever let it effect how you share your stories and photos and work. Keep going girl! Can you share what article you're writing or do we have to be patent?
Take care and have a nice eve.
Laurie
Dawn,
I'm so sorry that you had to endure the negativity of one so unhappy that they could not even identify themselves. Of course if I penned those words, I would want to remain unknown also. As much as you can, just let those words roll off your back. No matter how big your nest is, your heart will always be bigger. The fact that you offer the comfort and protection of prayer to your accuser speaks volumes about the content of your character. Never stop doing what brings joy to you and so many others!
First dear friend, I want to say thank you so very much for your lovely comments about my dollies. I can always count on you for such things. It really means something to me.
Second, I am so offended that someone came here to this most positive and dreamy place to try to bring bad. How dear they!
Pay no mind my friend. You need not say another word about it.
I know why I come here. There is no glutton here, you bring Joy.
Smiles,
Becky
It saddens me that someone could be so unkind. Dawn, thank you for your kind and inspiring words and sharing your God given talents. I believe that God is working through you and your gorgeous blog. I am so blessed to have found your little blog.
its sad when others feel they have to put others down to make themselves feel better!
it always boggles my mind when people speak this way, as if they are better than others, as if they are perfect.
god bless you and your beautiful blog!
You've got a great attitude :) And it's all about the 'tude :)
I've only recently discovered your blog, but it has quickly become a favorite of mine. I enjoy reading your posts. It's all so inspiring!
I'm so sorry that you received such an awful comment. I'll never understand why someone would ever feel the need to be so deliberately mean to someone like that. I feel sorry for that person and really hope that one day they'll find their joy and happiness. I applaud you for taking the high road and rising above the negativity. People like that and their words just aren't worth it.
Dawn, I think it's the best to take the high road as you did. One nver knows what is, or has gone on in this person's day or life to make them actually take the time to write - and they must have come to your blog at some time - and then back?! You are an inspiration to us all- you are gifted and talented and you have class and integrity. I applaud you, my friend.
Colleen
Dawn...I hope you know that you never have to explain yourself to us!!! We all know how true and good hearted you are. Your blog bring so much joy to others and some people just have to rain on another ones parade. I guess to make them feel better about themselves...so sad! We love you and your beautiful blog!
OMG!! It sounds like somebody has some serious issues!
I love your blog...and so do many others. I do not know you personally, but I have been following your blog for some time, and you seem like a very sweet, caring person. Keep up the beautiful work...and don't change a thing.
Ah sweet Dawn...you of all people need never explain or defend yourself.
People who do this are called "trolls" - they troll the internet looking for places to leave their "trash". They like blogs, and message boards and discussion boards and love to cause havoc. Small minds and small hearts.
HI Dawn! I have never commented on your blog before but I have to now to tell you how I admire your forgiving attitude to such a rude and unhappy person. I know we are supposed to pray for our enemies...that is a hard one for me. You are an example for all of us in that department.
I only discovered "blogs" a couple of months ago. They really have made a difference in my life. I feel encouraged, blessed, calmer, craftier, etc. etc. by lots of the places I visit on the computer. Thank- you ( and all of the other ladies that post) for sharing your time and talents with the rest of us.

Dawn
I was so sad/angry that someone would do that to you! You are one of the sweetest, most kind, thoughtful people I have met!!! God & your true BLOG FRIENDS KNOW THIS & that is what matters! Do not let that negativity come anywhere near your sweet, creative soul. Quest for your treasures. Love them & yourself. We do love seeing all your goodies. God Bless you & keep you.
It sounds like someone is just jealous, because you have it all together and know how to appreciate it.
this person obviously wants attention in a very negative way ~ now that you've addressed he/she move on. Don't give it any more of your positive and creative flow. They aren't worth is :)
Dawn, I read your blog every night before I go to bed. It is inspiring and soothing. A couple of months ago I purchased one of your pieces of art. Every time I look at it it fills me with joy. Please do not let the comment bother you. Look at how much support your received. Forgive and pray for this person. I read a quote once that is appropriate "any fool can condemn, criticize and complain...and most usually do."
Keep creating the wonderful art. Sweet Dreams :)
wow, your words so elegant and true, You are blessed and your talent is wonderful, it's sad that someone has to be so hurtful. Hopefully something will guide them to the light of living in the moment of Joy of others and finding it in themselves too. Hugs, Lisa
I agree with sherry b. That person is green with envy and can't be thankful for what they have but has to put down people for what they do and have. Too bad, but you handled it beautifully. The Bible says to pray for our enemies and I'm glad you're doing that. I'll pray too that Mr./Miss/Mrs. "green" will come to know the Creator of All Good Gifts and start appreciating even the small things they have and leave you and others alone. What a troubled person.
Sally
Oh Dawn, I'm so sorry you had to deal with someone who needs all of us to pray for them. That is one thing I don't understand and probably want ever. People should be happy for others. Don't let it bother you, but I know the type of person you are it still hurts.
Hugs to you, and blessings sent to anonymous,
Bonnie
Dawn,
You seem to be one of the most giving and kind bloggers "out there"...you're always sharing images and how-tos. I can't imagine why someone would want to express their...I don't know...maybe 'rage' and insecurities in such an inappropriate manner. It seems like lately an anonymous commenter has been popping up on a lot of the more popular blogs and it just makes no sense. If you don't have anything good to say (or write)...keep it to yourself!
Best wishes...
I just don't know why some people insist on being so ugly. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and eye for beauty with all of us! It's so much fun to share!
Oh dear Dawn... how very sad :-( But, you know you are loved! It is sad, it seems a few bloggers have been visited by "trolls" lately... I just wish they would find something better to do with their time~ I am always happy to come in and see your creations and your treasures~ you make my day.
You are right God does know your heart and He smiles at the beauty you create from simple, discarded items. I am also so intrigued by the cowardness of comments like this--to remain anonymous is such the easy way out.
Oh, Dawn, that person has no right to be so nasty.. and has probably never purchased any of your pretties and see what details go into them. For example, I love my little pin cushion that I bought from you because I know that each little button and bit of lace was probably sitting in a BIG pile of buttons and lace yet you picked out just the right ones to go together with my little silver pitcher. That's a good deal better job than I can do and most other people, too. Let all the negative junk roll off your back and take these positive comments, along with my thanks for a job well done on my own particular item, and be happy!!
God bless,
Sallie

It's sad that this person is so unkind....
But Dawn, i love your blog!!!! Your blog is a place for me where you can find so much love, happiness and blessings!!! And i love your art, every time i visit your blog it makes me happy!!!
Hugs,
Nans xoxo
Dawn, Your prayers for this person are exactly the right thing to do! I often wonder what sadness or bitter life experiences leads people to such judgemental thoughts. My prayers go out to "anonymous" too!
Keep doing what God has gifted you with... seeing beauty where others see throwaways, creating beauty, and sharing your sweet spirit.
Your blog is one, of just a couple, that I visit every time I go online. It lifts my spirit, and that is not an easy thing to do these days.
Thank you and bless you!
Nita Jo
Some people are just so juvienile and have nothing better to do than be grumpy and spiteful.
Your blog is lovely!!
And so are you by the sound of it!
Dawn, I can't believe someone said that to you. You're one of the kindest, my generous people I've met online or anywhere. You've been given a gift by God - your talent - and you don't horde it! You share it! You don't hide your light under a bushel. You inspire and give both materially and emotionally. You brighten the days of so many people with your talent and the gifts you share.
This shocks me too because I've seen so little nastiness on the blogs I visit - so refreshing because the internet CAN and DOES become a forum for cowards and meanies too often - but on your blog and so many others people are welcomed, appreciated, encouraged, helped, praised, listened to, etc.
Wish I could really give you a big ((HUG)).
Diane
Dear Dawn,
I just have to comment. You are clearly a lovely person. I drop in to catch up on your latest creations quite often and should comment more, because I enjoy your blog so much. I know that it is discouraging to get comments like that. What a sad and hateful attitude. I just hate to see people like this get the attention that they do when we try to defend ourselves by posting about them. You have nothing to defend. This is your own place to share the beauty of your creativity and thoughts. Why someone has to come along and throw a poisoned apple into the whole thing is beyond me.I just fear that by publicly acknowledging this type of behaviour it gives these people far more credence than they deserve and possibly gives them a little thrill for having gotten to you. The best thing to do is hit delete and think of all the people who love you and visit you every day:>)
Wow, how awful is that? There must be some terrible pain in that person's life to compell them to write that note.
I find your blog refreshing and filled with artistic inspiration. It is a gem!
Ugh! What an unattractive, unedifying side for that commenter to show of herself/himself. Yes, we all get these kinds of comments from time to time. I am glad that you went public with it because then it turns it from being hidden to being in the light. Perhaps that way these "types" will scuttle back under their rocks or mend their ways.
Hi Dawn~
You said it Perfect..... Keep up Everything You Do ~ Your Collecting, Blogging & Art..... We Love it all ~ Thank You for Sharing, even the bitter!
xox
cheryl
hi sweetie! have not been on here lately & wow!! sooo sorry that happened to you! but like we have visited about before, there are the unhappy negative ones out there. we all love you & your blog. God gave u such talent & inspiration & you give it all back to us! your sharing & caring ways are always soo appreciated! we can pray for these negative ones & only God can touch their hearts. we know He is in ours! ♥♥♥ much love, many hugs & blessings, vikki ♥
Wow, that comment is really disturbing. This person is really suffering from a hurt soul to lash out in such a way as to try an inflict pain upon you. My prayers go out to them to find healing for their evident bitterness.
If this person is a follower of your blog they would see a generous soul who does not hide her light but lets it shine through her heart and life. I pray that you were not wounded by one careless comment.
You have handled this beautifully and admirably and hopefully this person will find better things to do with their time than harass others.
Keep sharing, creating, collecting, and feathering your nest all the to glory of the Lord!
Dawn,
How awful for one to post such mean-spirited comments! (I think this poster may have frequented other sites with such comments--you are not singled out.) You have not only introduced me to the joys of blogland. I start my day with your site, because in this downtrodden world, I am able to start on a positive note when I switch on my computer to work (I work at home). These days have been full of sadness for me as two of my sons (college-aged) have serious cardiac problems and your blog casts a small spot of light in my day with a simple smile. The fruits of the Spirit translate through your blog, and you are truly being used for good!
Dearest Dawn~ I don't think you deserve comments like that. You are just the sweetest. Cindy at Romantic Home received the same type of comment on the same day. Don't know if it is the same person but they obviously don't understand the blogging world. You are an inspiration. A teacher. A friend to many of us. Here's a big hug coming your way!
I just came across your site recently, and now look forward to visiting it every day. There is something so soothing about your artwork. It reminds one to cherish the simple things in life and to imagine a time when our parents and grandparents were young. You are a truly talented artist. Thank you for sharing your work and for being an inspiration.
Oh my, how ugly. And all of us can tell what a sweet soul you have, a beautiful person like you doesn't deserve such ugliness.
Dawn, I just want to say how much I enjoy and look forward to your blog. Wow, this angry, mean- spirited person must have a sad life. Wonder why they signed it "Anonymous"? Hmmm... I don't have a blog so I try to include my name. Deb Plapp
Dawn,
That truly breaks my heart that you received such an unwarrented and evil comment. I too have received a couple in the last month...so I understand. I do hope that it in no way hinders your posting and sharing of your wonderful finds, home, art, and life...you are such an inspiration to so many of us! Shame on those who don't see that...
Wow ... I am so sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately, people who hate this way are very small minded and do this often on message boards, forums and blogs. They do it for the "thrill" of hurting others and the anonymity of it makes it easier. Know that we love reading your blog and thank you for letting us peek into your life and your art.
This has saddened me to tears. Dawn, I can only think of all the kindness and encouragement you have given me as an artist and blogger friend. Thank you for always sharing your beautiful heart with me and blogland!
Hugs!
Nancy
Dawn, Am sorry you were the target for such negativity! I love your blog and read it everyday! Your art is so amazing! You have a beautiful and generous spirit, sharing with all your readers. We just rise above such pettiness. With God's help we forgive those who, for whatever reason, find it necessary to vent, when they should be quiet! Smiles, Nancy
Dawn ~ I am sorry for the mean comment that you received ~ that is such a sad person that they do not see who you are, how precious and giving you are ~
You bring us a place of beauty in what you show us and in what you create ~
xoxo,
Lori
Dearest Dawn, If those butt hoes only knew how beautiful your heart is!
I am so mad at what they said to you. What a crappy person. And not to even have the guts to leave their name!
You are awesome and don't ever forget that.
You are not greedy! You are generous and kind.
Sending you much love, Nita
How very hurtful! This woman obviously does not understand the Law of Love--and that whatever you give out comes right back to you. That, Dearest Dawn, is why YOU are so very blessed! Thank you for your unfailing kindness and generosity. Linda
Dawn, that is so much like you to pray for those that have a negative and hurtful mentality. Shame on them!! They need to get a life. As my mother always said if you can't say something nice, keep that negative thought to yourself!! God blesses those who seek him and I know you will always be blessed. Keep your chin up my friend, you are blessing to all of us!! We love your creative spirit just the way you are.
That person must have a pretty miserable life if they can look at your beautiful pictures and the creative things you're sharing with others and try to turn it into something bad. There are some strange people in the world, sorry that one of them had to find you.
Dawn, she must have run out of her meds again. Not mentioning any names, I am sure I know who this is. You just keep doing what you do so well and let the negativity slide right off your shoulders. You are an inspiration to thousands and only a thorn in the side of one bitter person who really just needs to get a life.
As usual, you take the high road sweet friend. You are right, God knows our heart and that's all we should care about. Proud of you.
xo Lidy
You are right God knows our hearts. We cannot judge each other's motives. I believe that is what you have said to by praying about this issue. It doesn't mean that words don't hurt us. I do not like to see others hurt. The golden rule is how I try to live too. I am thankful for all you share.
Obviously your anonymous reader doesn't know you. You have one of the most generous hearts in the blogiverse. Your intent is obviously, not this one, but I am put in mind of the scripture about "heaping coals of fire upon their head." I'll join you in praying blessings on them. I try to remember that it is almost always pain that causes cruel talk.
Dawn, It's amazing to me that a person can say these hurtful things under the title of "Anonymous." I've always believed you should stand up for your principles and own your comments. He or she should be ashamed. My bet is this person is a very unhappy person....one who can't "see" what we see and is probably more than a little envious. How sad, as they are really missing out. You keep on doing what you do and we, who love it, will keep on visiting your blog! Pat
I've been getting rude comments too! I wonder if it's the same person! My mother used to tell me that people like that are just jealous...I think that's the case here too! Who cares how much stuff we have? If they don't like it why do they read our blogs? I just don't get it.
so very sorry you had to deal with that negative attitude.
You were created in the image of God and He is THE Creator and ultimate artist. You are just reflecting His beauty.
I have never commented before, but I couldn't pass this chance without showing you my complete support. I have seen you have 67 comments on this post before mine - that really shows how talented you are and how your work and charisma are inspiring us artists. Try to concentrate on the good wishes sent your way, and just forget the rest - you are truly amazing!
Hi..know I am late on this one...but I agree with Pat...if a person really believes that way and that they are correct...stand up and say it and take pride in what you say...Anonomous....means absolutely nothing except they are ashamed.
Your blog is beautiful. I get a thrill seeing such beautiful things that are enjoyable and inspiring....Ceekay
